Prajnya Priyadarshinee (24 PGCHE010)
Priyanka Sahoo (25PGCHE008) PG students of Chemistry, Government Autonomous College, Angul, won the district-level first prize in the Science Exhibition (Youth Festival, held on Nov 28, 2025 at Government Autonomous College, Angul) and represented the Angul District at the State Level Competition on 25th December, at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. Their project, “Bio-absorbent Method for Defluorination of Waste Water”, offers a sustainable solution to a global issue of waste water treatment aligned with the objectives of Vikisit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047. its well recognized and appreciated much by the audience today.

Fire Safety Awareness Program Report

*Organized By* : Fire Safety Committee

A Fire Safety Awareness Program was conducted at the Government Autonomous College, Angul, on 16th, Dec, 25, to create awareness about fire safety measures and evacuation procedures among students and staff. The program was organized by the Fire Safety Committee, Govt. Autonomous College, Angul, under the leadership of Principal Dr. N Patel, Fire Safety Committee Convener Dr. L. N Nanda, NCC Coordinator Dr. R. R. Behera, and Building Committee Coordinator Dr. B. K. Sahoo. All the fire safety committee members; Dr. S. N. Tripathy, Mr. Chittaranjan Swain and Sri Biswajit Naik involved actively for the smooth ex*****on of the program. Assistant Fire Officer and his team conducted an insightful session on fire safety measures, types of fire extinguishers, and evacuation procedures. Students and staff actively participated in the program and gained valuable knowledge on fire safety. The program also saw active participation from the students of UG/PG. The program concluded with a demonstration of fire extinguishing techniques, use of different fire extinguishers, evacuation process and related safety measures leaving the participants with a sense of preparedness and awareness about fire safety.
