Charan Kanwal 2025–26 Unveiled

The annual edition of Charan Kanwal (2025–26), the prestigious college magazine of Sikh National College, Banga, was formally released in a function held on June 26, 2026.
The magazine was unveiled by S. Gurbir Singh Brar, Executive Director, Sikh Human Development Foundation, as the Chief Guest, and S. Karandeep Singh Cheema, Joint Secretary, Sikh Educational Society (SES), as the Guest of Honour, along with S. Jarnail Singh Palli Jhikki, Secretary, Local Managing Committee, Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh, Dr. Indu Ratti, Head, Department of Mathematics, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Editor-in-Chief and members of the editorial board.
Welcoming the gathering, Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh described Charan Kanwal as a reflection of the college’s academic excellence, literary creativity, and institutional achievements. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma highlighted that the magazine documents the academic, cultural, sports, research, and extension activities of the college while providing a platform for students and faculty to showcase their literary talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest S. Gurbir Singh Brar appreciated the editorial team’s efforts and observed that such publications preserve an institution’s legacy while inspiring creativity and critical thinking. Guest of Honour S. Karandeep Singh Cheema congratulated the college for nurturing literary and intellectual pursuits among students.
The staff editors present on the occasion included Prof. Aabid Vaqar, Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur, Prof. Manmant Singh, Prof. Kishore Kumar, Prof. Tajinder Singh, and Mr. Sandeep Nayyar.

MA English Students Excel in GNDU Results
Students of the Department of English, Sikh National College, Banga, have once again brought pride to the institution through their outstanding performance in the December 2025 examinations conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University. Parwinder Kaur and Jasdeep Kaur, students of MA English Semester III, secured the joint third position in the university and stood first in SBS Nagar district. Their remarkable achievement has added another feather to the cap of the college and the Department of English. On this occasion, the students were felicitated by Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh, who congratulated them on their hard work and dedication. Appreciating their achievement, he said, “The success of our students reflects the academic excellence and disciplined environment of the college. Such achievements inspire other students to pursue their goals with commitment and sincerity.” Head of the Department of English, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, also expressed his happiness and praised the students for their consistent efforts. He remarked, “Parwinder Kaur and Jasdeep Kaur have brought honour not only to the department but also to the entire district. Their achievement is a testimony to perseverance, regular study, and academic passion.” Prof. Kishore Kumar and Preet Kanwal were also present during the felicitation ceremony and congratulated the students on their excellent performance. The faculty members expressed confidence that the students would continue to excel in their academic journey and bring further glory to the institution.
