Prof. Arindam Mitra Professor and Dean, School of Allied and Healthcare Professions, RVU, attended the Annual Conference of the Microbiology Society in ICC Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK from April 13-16, 2026 (https://microbiologysociety.org/event/annual-conference-2026.html).

During the conference he chaired an EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) session titled ‘Celebrating and promoting actions advancing equality, diversity and inclusion.’ He also delivered an offered talk titled ‘Transforming equity in STEM education through Alternative Grading’.

Additionally, he presented two scientific posters in two separate themes. One poster is in the Knocking Out AMR category titled ‘Antimicrobial Prescribing Practices for Surgical Prophylaxis in Caesarean Sections at Kawempe National Referral Hospital, Kampala, Uganda’ published earlier this month in Health Science Reports (Impact Factor: 2.1) https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/hsr2.72298 The poster at the Environmental, Applied and Industrial Microbiology forum was ‘Wastewater Surveillance for COVID-19 Outbreaks at a Ward Level: Emerging Insights from Bengaluru, India.’

Dr. Hasan Akhtar, Assistant Professor & Programme Director of Environmental Science at SoLAS, RV University, Bengaluru, presented his research at the prestigious European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2026 in Vienna, Austria — one of the world's largest geosciences conferences.

His presentation, ‘Interaction of Elevated CO₂ and Disturbance on Belowground Processes in a Mature Temperate Forest,’ explores how insect outbreak disturbances interact with elevated CO₂ to reshape soil processes in temperate forests — with important implications for understanding forest ecosystem responses under future climate change.

The work is based on collaborations with the University of Exeter and the Birmingham Institute of Forest Research (BIFoR), University of Birmingham, UK.

Dr. Anuradha Chatterjee, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean at RVU, was invited to deliver a keynote address at British University in Egypt on 22 April 2026.

At the event, she presented insights from her recently edited book Architectures of Ageing in Place, published by Routledge. The book, peer-reviewed by five anonymous experts at the proposal stage and supported by three international endorsements, contributes significantly to conversations around ageing, design, and lived environments.

An honour for RV University to be part of such meaningful global dialogues that shape inclusive and future-ready spaces.

Dr. Avishek Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science and Engineering (SoCSE), RV University, has published two SCI-indexed (Q2) journal papers, marking a significant milestone in cutting-edge communication systems research.

His first paper, published in the International Journal of Communication Systems (IJCS) by Wiley, explores a quantum-approximated unconventional sidelobe canceling beamformer designed for bidirectional scanning and effective sectoral jamming mitigation.

His second paper, featured in the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies (IJMWT) by Cambridge University Press, presents a quantum-inspired sidelobe canceller beamformer with enhanced capabilities for bidirectional beam scanning and sectorised jamming mitigation.
Both publications, indexed in SCI, Web of Science, and Scopus (Q2), highlight impactful contributions to next-generation wireless communication and signal processing.
