Prof. Arindam Mitra Professor and Dean, School of Allied and Healthcare Professions, RVU, attended the Annual Conference of the Microbiology Society in ICC Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK from April 13-16, 2026 (https://microbiologysociety.org/event/annual-conference-2026.html).
During the conference he chaired an EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) session titled ‘Celebrating and promoting actions advancing equality, diversity and inclusion.’ He also delivered an offered talk titled ‘Transforming equity in STEM education through Alternative Grading’.
Additionally, he presented two scientific posters in two separate themes. One poster is in the Knocking Out AMR category titled ‘Antimicrobial Prescribing Practices for Surgical Prophylaxis in Caesarean Sections at Kawempe National Referral Hospital, Kampala, Uganda’ published earlier this month in Health Science Reports (Impact Factor: 2.1) https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/hsr2.72298 The poster at the Environmental, Applied and Industrial Microbiology forum was ‘Wastewater Surveillance for COVID-19 Outbreaks at a Ward Level: Emerging Insights from Bengaluru, India.’
