BILS announces that they are hosting “Lex Fortissimus”- 4th National Trial Advocacy Competition 2017. The competition is scheduled to be held from 24th March to 26th March 2017.

Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies (BILS) was established in the year 1993 by BHS Higher Education Society (which runs several colleges including Vijaya College) mainly at the instance of Shri. N.B.Bhat, IPS (Retd.), who is the Vice President of the Society and the Dean of BILS. Over the years, we believe, BILS has established itself; and is attracting bright students from all over the country, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. At the maiden Convocation of Karnataka State Law University, held in November, 2014, our students secured the 1st, 5th and 10th ranks (all the three are girls). The students of BILS have continued the tradition and secured five ranks- 1st ,2nd ,3rd ,4th and 6th ranks in the year 2015 and four ranks – 3rd , 4th , 8th and 10th in the year 2016.

As a premier law institute, we have always believed it is important to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical life. A Trial Advocacy Competition creates a platform for the students where they exhibit their skills that they will need in the future. As our esteemed Dean mentioned, the bread and butter of an advocate is dependent on his ability to build a case, using witnesses and documentary evidence effectively. A Trial Advocacy Competition recreates this atmosphere and allows the students to hone their abilities in this direction.
