As Indians, we are known to be pioneers in the field of learning concepts and methodologies. Centuries before the Harvards, Stanfords, Oxfords and the like came into existence; we had shown the world how education should be imparted to the learners. Takshashila University (now known as Taxila) was created in 600 BC and functioned up to 500 AD. You can enter the university at the age of 16 and get
the option of studying 68 different subjects. Inspired by the quality of education and the way it was taught, a lot of foreign student from countries like China, Greece, Babylon and Syria joined the university. Vedas, grammar, languages, philosophy, archery, medicine, astronomy and many more subjects were taught by experienced masters. At one point, there were 10,500 students in the university and the concept of a fully-functional university was shown to the world. Another great university is – Nalanada University that existed between 500 and 1300 AD. We Indians built a sprawling campus in an area that spanned one mile in length and half mile in width, with 300 lecture halls, stone benches, laboratories, observatory, library and more. The university also conducted a tough entrance examination with a pass percentage as low as 30%. As you can see, many concepts of modern learning methods existed as early as 600 BC. Taking inspiration from our ancestors, we - TTLS aim to bring about a revolution in the field of learning and learning technologies. Like Takshashila and Nalanda Universities, we want to set an example in the way learning, training and productivity enhancement processes are visualized & implemented; by creating tools that will cater to modern day requirements.
