IEEE Smart Tech Workshop in Bangalore
IEEE Bangalore Section brings to you the 3rd edition of IEEE SmartTech workshop on the theme of "Smart Technologies for Smarter Living" on the 18th and 19th of November 2016 (Friday and Saturday) at Hotel Taj Vivanta (MG Road) in Bangalore.

Many new technology advances in the 21st century are happening concurrently at a very rapid pace, and they are truly touching the lives of human beings.
In this regard, this edition of IEEE SmartTech brings together two unique tracks that address various facets of smart technology to enable smarter living in our times and bring to you many of these technological changes that are transforming our lives every day. Track 1 addresses a diverse set of verticals that are making a difference to people with smart technology, whereas Track 2 dives deeper into the realm of data science and analytics addressing verticals such telecommunications, retail, and healthcare.
Track-1 primarily addresses verticals related to Smart Cities and Smart Villages such as the automotive and transportation industry including self-driving vehicles, traffic management, and smart car infotainment and sensor systems, smart living spaces, showcases learning obtained from smart village experiments in India, waste management, water management, smart fintech solutions such as block chain technology or mobile payment systems, broadband and last mile access solutions, mobile edge computing services, new smart technologies to help the under-served in the country, and discusses issues related to smart city system integration challenges in India.
Track-2 of this workshop aims to deep-dive into both vertical (i.e., domain specific) and horizontal (i.e., technology specific) aspects of Data science and engineering. While the horizontal aspects will covers the scientific principles and technology details of some of the above mentioned techniques with respect to streaming, predictive and prescriptive analytics; the vertical aspects will cover three use-cases that are gaining significant traction with the Indian urbanization aspiration: Telecommunication, Retail and Personal well-being and healthcare. In addition, this track will also present many success stories in this space and organize a dedicated technical session on Data Science as a Career.
