Creating an impact where it matters most: in the community.

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing at the College of Nursing Sciences, Dayananda Sagar University, organized a vital Community Awareness Program for World Asthma Day 2026. Held at the Doddamaralavadi PHC, the event was themed "Healthy Lungs for Life: Preventing Asthma Attacks in the Community."

The initiative focused on educating community members about asthma causes, symptoms, common triggers, and effective management. Key highlights included:

An informative medical talk by Dr. Sumanth on asthma care, lifestyle modifications, and proper inhaler techniques.

Creative educational sessions by our nursing students, who used an engaging skit, a flash mob, and interactive health education activities to reinforce preventive measures.

By emphasizing early identification and adherence to treatment, our students and faculty successfully empowered the community to take charge of their respiratory health.

We were delighted to host Dr. Ashok Kaushal from Concordia University, Canada, for his second visit to Dayananda Sagar University. During his time here, Dr. Kaushal engaged extensively with our faculty on curriculum development and capstone projects, and delivered insightful lectures to our students on advanced research and international academic pathways.

Our conversations also focused heavily on advancing DSU's mandate to build robust AI structures and finalizing a Letter of Intent to establish a strong institutional partnership. We look forward to creating new global avenues for our students and faculty through this partnership.

Cybersecurity paradigms are shifting as generative threats become more sophisticated. We are thrilled to celebrate a significant research milestone by Dr. Tanvir H Sardar, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Dayananda Sagar University.
