We are thrilled to announce the successful inauguration of the Humanoid Robotics Center of Excellence at Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management. π€β¨
We are Greatful for the support and Guidance extended by Shri Nishan H Sagar (Joint Secretary, DSI) for presiding over the ceremony. The event was graced by our Chief Guests, Ms. Anjani Saraswat (Branch Head, Acetians Technologies), Mr. Shivam Sharma, and Mr. Syed Saif Raza.
A special thanks to our Principal, Dr. M Ravishankar, and Vice Principal, Dr. C Nandini, for their visionary leadership. We also extend our gratitude to Prof. Bhavya V (Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE) for her dedicated efforts in coordinating this milestone event.
This journey gave us the opportunity to work on a humanoid robotic system powered by Raspberry Pi 5, integrating multiple hardware and software components into a unified intelligent architecture. From configuring PCA9685 servo drivers over I2C communication to integrating camera modules, voice interaction systems, and AI-driven response mechanisms, every stage involved practical engineering and collaborative problem-solving.
The robot architecture includes:
* Raspberry Pi 5 with SSD-based processing
* PCA9685 servo controller for multi-servo actuation
* Camera-based vision processing using OpenCV and Face Recognition
* Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech modules for interaction
* FS-i6 RC-controlled mobility system
* HDMI touchscreen interface for monitoring and debugging
* Python-based AI decision modules integrated with real-time hardware control
One of the most exciting aspects was understanding how different subsystems communicate together β from GPIO and I2C-based servo communication to real-time vision processing, actuator synchronization, and AI-assisted interaction pipelines. It was an experience that connected embedded systems, robotics, AI, and software engineering into one practical ecosystem.
This center marks a giant leap for our Department of CSE, providing a dedicated space to innovate, build, and lead in the field of advanced humanoid robotics. The future is here! π¦Ύ
