We are organizing the CAHO Pre-Conference workshop on “Healthcare Innovation Lab: Designing Human-Centered Quality Solutions with AI and Digital Health” on 5th September 2026 between 10 AM - 2PM.

The Healthcare Innovation Lab is an interactive, design thinking-based workshop that brings together students from medicine, nursing, dentistry, allied health sciences, public health, pharmacy, and healthcare management to collaboratively address real-world healthcare quality challenges.

The participants will work in multidisciplinary teams to identify healthcare problems, understand patient needs, and design innovative, AI-enabled, and digitally supported solutions that improve quality, safety, efficiency, and patient experience.

This workshop will emphasize human-centered care, innovation, quality improvement, and responsible use of Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

The workshop is structured into four interactive sessions designed to take participants through the complete healthcare innovation journey.

Session 1 – Human-Centred Quality Care for Viksit Bharat focuses on understanding the importance of human-centred, quality and technology-enabled healthcare.

Session 2 – Innovation Toolkit introduces participants to practical tools and techniques for identifying healthcare challenges and developing innovative solutions.

Session 3 – Healthcare Innovation Lab provides a hands-on platform for multidisciplinary teams to apply these tools, work on real-world healthcare challenges and develop innovative solutions or prototypes.

Session 4 – Innovation Pitch – Presentation/Gallery Walk enables teams to present their solutions, receive expert feedback and showcase their innovations through structured pitches or a gallery walk.

Overall, the workshop follows a progressive approach of Understand → Identify → Innovate → Pitch.

Three prizes will be awarded to the best innovation pitches:

First Prize: ₹1,500/-
Second Prize: ₹1,000/-
Third Prize: ₹500/-

Celebrating the Spirit of Freedom & the Power of Youth! 

IIHMR Bangalore came together on 15 August 2026 to celebrate the 80th Independence Day with pride, patriotism and a strong commitment towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat@2047.

Theme: “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047” and the commemoration of “150 Years of Vande Mataram”.

The celebrations commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by an inspiring address by Dr. Usha Manjunath, Professor and Director, IIHMR Bangalore. The programme continued with a musical tribute to the nation, followed by thought-provoking student speeches on “Forgotten Heroes, Unforgotten Sacrifice,” honouring the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of the freedom fighters who shaped our nation’s journey to independence, many of whom, despite their invaluable contributions, have faded from public memory.

The morning was further enriched with impromptu speaking, engaging games, fun activities and vibrant Tricolour-themed participation, bringing together the IIHMR Bangalore community in the true spirit of unity and togetherness.

As we honour the heroes of our past, let us empower the youth of today to become the changemakers of tomorrow.

Let us celebrate freedom, embrace responsibility, and work together towards a stronger, healthier and Viksit Bharat.
