On 13 October 2026, Deyatima Ghosh, Assistant Professor, IIHS University, delivered an interactive guest lecture on animal intelligence for the Environment Club at St. Claret College, Bengaluru.

Over 100 undergraduate students explored animal behaviour, including that of species sharing our urban spaces, and participated in a quiz on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On 6 and 7 October 2026, the IIHS Academic Outreach team visited colleges across Mysuru, including Maharani’s Arts College, Yuvaraja's College, GSSS Simha Subbamahalakshmi First Grade Degree College, and GFGC Sidhartha Layout.

The interactive sessions introduced students and faculty to IIHS University’s interdisciplinary programmes and a field-based learning approach, highlighting the growing scope for careers in the urban sector.

As part of its ongoing academic outreach, IIHS University visited Women’s Christian College, Chennai, on 28 September 2026.

Aditi Surie, Assistant Professor, IIHS School of Human Development, spoke to Computer Science students on the role of their discipline in addressing challenges related to urbanisation, climate change, and human development.

Suman Chatterjee from the IIHS Academic Outreach team interacted with the students on the importance of interdisciplinary teaching and learning, and talked to them about IIHS University’s Master’s programmes and admissions process.

The programme was organised by the Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with IQAC.

As part of ongoing engagement, the IIHS Academic Outreach team visited the Asian School of Architecture & Design Innovations (ASADI) in Kochi, Kerala on 11 September 2026.

The visiting team introduced the students to IIHS University’s Master’s programmes, and how the curriculum emphasises field-based applied learning, where theoretical concepts learnt in the classrooms are applied on the ground, enabling learning by doing. Students are taught the skills to observe, document, and analyse various facets of and in the urban, work with their peer groups to identify problems through various disciplinary lenses, and then move to building propositions, and designing solutions.

What role does play have in a Master’s programme?

At IIHS University, learning extends beyond the classroom. We see play as an important part of building a healthy, connected and well-rounded student experience.

Across their Master’s journey, students engage in Play as part of the Foundation curriculum, choosing from activities such as cycling, swimming, yoga, table tennis, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and cricket.

Whether taking on an individual sport or playing as part of a team, students get the space to move, recharge, build relationships, and develop a deeper connection with their bodies and with each other.
