BHSS BARAMULLA COMMEMORATES ANNUAL FELICITATION CEREMONY 2026
Baramulla, September 19, 2026:
Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Baramulla, one of the prominent heritage educational institutions of the district, organised its Annual Felicitation Ceremony 2026 on Saturday, September 19, with great enthusiasm and academic fervour.
The ceremony was graced by Javid Hassan Beigh, Hon’ble MLA Baramulla, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Iftikhar Bashir, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Baramulla, and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO), Baramulla, were among the distinguished guests. Principals and Headmasters from cluster schools, teachers, parents and a large number of students attended the programme.
The proceedings were anchored by students Shahid and Mohammad Anzar Mir, who conducted the programme with confidence and enthusiasm.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Dr. S. M. Gul, who welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, parents, teachers and students and highlighted the importance of recognising student achievement as a means of motivating young learners towards excellence.
Dr. Shameem Ahmad Bhat, Principal, BHSS Baramulla, presented the future vision of the institution, while also highlighting the emerging challenges and issues in the present education system. He emphasised the need for continuous improvement, innovation, student-centric approaches and collective responsibility to prepare students for the rapidly changing educational and social landscape.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Iftikhar Bashir, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Baramulla, highlighted the significance and rich legacy of the heritage institution. He appreciated the role of BHSS Baramulla in nurturing generations of students and contributing to the educational landscape of the district.
A documentary on BHSS Baramulla was also screened, showcasing the institution's rich history, heritage, achievements and journey over the years.
In his address, Hon’ble MLA Baramulla Javid Hassan Beigh congratulated the students, parents and school fraternity. He emphasised the importance of learning from the past while preparing for the future and urged students to take care of their parents, respect their teachers and remain committed to education, discipline and good values.
ECOTHON 2026
A major attraction of the ceremony was ECOTHON 2026, in which students displayed a variety of beautiful and innovative projects based on the physical, biological and cultural environment.
The exhibition provided students with a platform to demonstrate their creativity, scientific temperament and environmental consciousness. BHSS Baramulla secured the First Position in the ECOTHON 2026.
The highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of more than 250 students for their achievements in academics, sports and various individual categories.
The academic toppers, along with their parents, were specially felicitated in recognition of their outstanding performance. The honours were presented by Hon’ble MLA Javid Hassan Beigh, along with Dr. Shameem Ahmad Bhat, Principal BHSS Baramulla, Ms. Sumeera Syed, Vice Principal, BHSS Baramulla, and Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, Master, in the presence of the gathering.
The felicitation served as an occasion to acknowledge the hard work of students and the crucial role played by parents and teachers in supporting their educational journey.
The ceremony concluded on a celebratory note, with the school fraternity expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, distinguished guests, parents, teachers, cluster schools and all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the event.
The Annual Felicitation Ceremony 2026 thus became a celebration of achievement, heritage, innovation, environmental consciousness and the collective spirit of the BHSS Baramulla family.
