Visit of Principal, BHSS Baramulla to GMS Dewan Bagh, Baramulla

Dr. Shameem Ahmad Bhat, Cluster Head, visited Government Middle School (GMS), Dewan Bagh, Baramulla, on 10/08/2026 as part of an academic and educational outreach initiative aimed at strengthening school education and promoting the holistic development of students.
During the visit, the Cluster Head interacted with the teaching staff and students and reviewed the overall functioning of the institution. Particular attention was given to student attendance, academic performance, classroom teaching-learning practices, discipline and student engagement.
Comprehensive Education
The Cluster Head emphasized the importance of comprehensive and holistic education, wherein academic learning is complemented by co-curricular activities, life skills, environmental awareness, physical fitness, creativity, critical thinking, communication skills and the development of moral and social values.
The attendance position of students was reviewed, with emphasis on maintaining regular attendance and identifying cases of irregular absenteeism. The academic progress of students was also discussed, with emphasis on continuous assessment, remedial teaching and individual attention wherever required.
The arrangements under the Mid-Day Meal/PM POSHAN programme were reviewed, with particular emphasis on the quality, nutritional value, hygiene and timely provision of meals. The importance of cleanliness and proper hygiene in food preparation and serving areas was stressed.
The Cluster Head assured the school of continued educational and academic support from BHSS Baramulla. The proposed support may include academic mentoring, sharing of educational resources, subject-specific guidance, awareness programmes, co-curricular activities, workshops and other capacity-building initiatives.
The importance of institutional collaboration was emphasized to provide students with wider learning opportunities and strengthen the overall educational environment.
The Cluster Head interacted with the students and encouraged them to attend school regularly, remain disciplined and develop a positive attitude towards learning. Students were motivated to participate actively in academic and co-curricular activities and to develop into responsible, confident and environmentally conscious citizens.
The visit concluded with an assurance of continued cooperation and educational support from BHSS Baramulla, reaffirming the commitment towards strengthening school education through collaboration, mentoring and comprehensive student development.
