A graceful retirement-cum-farewell ceremony was organised on 29 November 2025 at Shri LBS Arya Mahila College, Barnala, to honour Assistant Professor Mrs. Anjana Raturi, Head of the Sanskrit Department, for her 38 years of devoted academic service.
The programme began with a warm welcome by the Principal, Management Committee and Faculty, followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony. Principal Dr. Sushil Bala shared heartfelt memories of Madam Raturi and praised her dedication, discipline and inspiring contribution to Sanskrit literature. Professors from various departments also expressed their admiration and best wishes, including Mrs. Dilpreet (English Department), Mrs. Parminder Kaur (Librarian), Dr. Virpal (Economics), Mr. Krishan (Superintendent) and Ms. Anmol Kaur (Science Department).Finance Secretary Mr. Pradeep Goel appreciated her role as a sincere teacher, guide and counsellor, wishing her joy in the next phase of life. A touching video presentation featuring messages from her daughter Ms. Megha Raturi and from people who could not physically attend the event.Wishes were also extended by family members including Mr. Neeraj (Brother-in-law), Mrs. Madhu (Sister), Mrs.Bina (Aunt) and cousin Visakha, making the moment even more sentimental and cherished. As a mark of respect, the College presented Madam Raturi with Phulkari, a memento and a cash honorarium, while her family also offered a special souvenir. Madam Raturi, in turn, gave mementos to Class-IV employees, and staff members expressed their affection with small tokens.The event was graced by members of the Management Committee, Arya Samaj Barnala, staff from the college, Collegiate Senior Secondary School, and former faculty.
The programme was beautifully anchored by Dr. Jaswinder (Head of Punjabi Department), who conducted the stage with dignity, clarity and elegance.
The farewell honoured her remarkable career. Mrs. Anjana Raturi will be remembered for her grace and excellence.
