The SASE Department of MRSPTU organized an educational tour to Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University (CSK HPKV), Palampur. Dr. Wineet Chawla, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Mr. Raghveer Singh, and Ms. Simranpreet Kaur supervised the team.During the visit, students explored the tea gardens, where the in-charge, Dr. Sanjay, explained the tea processing techniques. They also gained knowledge about various equipment and seeds used in agriculture. In addition, the students visited the agricultural museum.Prof. Jasvir Singh Tiwana, Head of the Department, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, Hon’ble Registrar of MRSPTU, for facilitating this educational tour.

The atmosphere at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) was electric as School of Agriculture Sciences & Engineering (SASE) officially welcomed the newest cohorts of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B. Tech Agricultural Engineering, B. Voc Agriculture, M. Sc. Agronomy & M. Sc. Horticulture batch of 2025 with an unforgettable “Ji Aaiyan Nu Freshers’ 2025” held on 15 October, celebrating new beginnings and the enduring spirit of agrarians. The students beautifully showcased the vibrant cultures of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan through their mesmerizing performances. Special titles such as Mr. Fresher, Ms. Fresher, Mr. Talented and Ms. Talented were awarded. The event witnessed an inspiring presence of distinguished dignitaries, with the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of MRSPTU, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Hon’ble Registrar, Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, leading further prestige as the Guest of Honor. Prof. Jasvir Singh Tiwana, Head of the Department, captivated the audience with his insightful address. On the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Parkash Purab, the School of Agriculture Sciences and Engineering (SASE), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, inaugurated the sowing season in the university’s agricultural fields with a spiritually uplifting Ardaas Samagam. The ceremony commenced with a gracious welcome extended to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of MRSPTU, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and Hon’ble Registrar of MRSPTU, Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, by the university fraternity. Prof. Jasvir Singh Tiwana, Head of the Department, warmly welcomed and introduced the distinguished guests. After that a collective Ardaas ceremony was started, seeking divine blessings for a prosperous harvest, sustainable growth, and the well-being of all. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Sukhpal Singh Bhullar, a distinguished horticulturist and recipient of the National Award in Horticulture, the State Award in Horticulture, and the Chief Minister’s Award in Horticulture. During the ceremony, the School of Agriculture Sciences & Engineering (SASE) presented a portrait of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji, symbolizing courage, leadership, and vision, to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma. As a mark of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, the secondyear students of B.Sc. Agriculture (Honors) also offered a traditional Khunda, representing strength and resilience. The event was further graced by the presence of several distinguished and respected personalities from the MRSPTU fraternity. The School of Agriculture Sciences and Engineering organized an educational trip to Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur,along with visits to significant agricultural,historical,and natural sites of Udaipur and Mount Abu. The main aim of the tour was to providing students with practical exposure to modern agricultural practices,technologies and research activities and also developed their skills.Students interacted with Dr. Narayan lalameena, who explained the history of the university and gave detailed information about the natural and organic farm units. He mainly described about mushroom production unit.This visit helped students relate theoretical agricultural concepts to real practical applications in research farms. Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, Ms. Komalpuneet Kaur, Mr. Adit Singla, and Mr. Raghveer Singh accompanied the students to guide them.
