𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗞𝗟𝗘 𝗝 𝗡 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲,𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗶-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
The 2nd State Conference of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of Karnataka, AROKSCON 2026, was successfully held on May 16–17 at KLE Centenary Convention Hall, Belagavi. Organized by the Department of Radiation Oncology, JNMC, KAHER, the conference centered on the theme “Radiotherapy in the Real World – From Evidence to Everyday Practice.”
The event brought together 250 delegates including Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Residents, Technologists, and Oncology professionals from across Karnataka and neighbouring states. Scientific sessions focused on precision radiotherapy, brachytherapy, head and neck oncology, oligometastatic disease, AI in radiotherapy, and multidisciplinary cancer care.
A dedicated AI workshop highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in treatment planning and clinical decision-making. The conference also promoted academic exchange through oral presentations, poster sessions, quizzes, and research discussions for young oncologists and trainees.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr Sandeep Shrivastava - Vice Chancellor KAHER, Belagavi as Chief Guest and Dr V M Pattanshetti - Registrar KAHER, Belagavi as Guest of Honour. The Dignitaries present included - Dr Rajesh Powar - Principal JNMC, KAHER, Dr (Col.) M Dayananda - Medical Director KLE Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC, Dr H B Rajashekhar - Director USM-KLE, Dr M V Jali - Director-Peripheral Hospitals, Dr Umesh Mahantshetty as AROI observer, Dr Abhinandan Hanji as KMC Observer, Dr Siddanna R Palled - AROK President, Dr Sunil R A - AROK Secretary), Dr Imtiaz Ahmed - Organizing Chairman, and Dr Sapna K - Organizing Secretary and all the Senior Radiation Oncologists of Karnataka graced the occasion.
AROKSCON 2026 reflected Karnataka’s growing contribution to modern cancer care, oncology education, and research.
