Teachers’ Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, our former President and an illustrious teacher was celebrated by the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Deemed-to-be-University (KLE Deemed University), Belagavi. A formal function was organized on this occasion at KLE Centenary Convention Centre, JNMC, Belagavi on 5th September 2026.
The Kannada Balaga of KAHER organized a function to pay tribute to the Founders of KLE Society aptly called as Saptarshis and performed Pooja on this occasion.
Dr. V. M. Pattanshetti, Registrar welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest Dr. Y. K. Gupta, President, AIIMS, Kalyani, Former Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS Delhi, Former Dean, AIIMS Delhi, Former President, AIIMS Jammu and AIIMS Bhopal, speaking on the occasion, congratulated all the faculty members on their achievements and expressed that receiving an award provides motivation, encouragement, happiness, and a sense of accomplishment, which inspires individuals to strive for even greater achievements. He also highlighted the contributions of the Saptarshis of KLE Society, acknowledging their invaluable role in promoting education through their vision and knowledge in building institutions and shaping the lives of students. He emphasized that teachers play a very important role in the life of every student. They motivate, encourage, guide, build confidence, and help students develop their careers. He stressed that the influence of a good teacher extends beyond academics and can have a lasting impact on the personal and professional growth of students.
Dr. Suresh V. Patted, Professor of Cardiology, J. N. Medical College, Belagavi and Dr. Sunil S. Jalalpure, Principal & Professor of Pharmacognosy, KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi were awarded with ‘Teacher of Teachers’ and were felicitated on this occasion for their overall development and significant contribution to the field of teaching, research, clinical research, patient-care and administration.
Best Teachers Awardees selected from each of the constituent units of KAHER were felicitated on this occasion.
He distributed the Certificates to the awardees of Best Young Scientist Award, Best Ph. D. and Best PG Thesis Award, etc. He also distributed the Certificates to the winners who participated in the Debate Competition conducted on this occasion on the topic ‘‘‘Click and Walk’ (digital Teaching) is more effective for educating Gen Z than ‘Chalk and Talk’ (traditional teaching)”.
On this occasion, “DIVYAKSHA” app an Innovative Smartphone application for Children with Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) developed by Dr. Smitha K. S. Professor and CVI specialist, Department of Ophthalmology, JNMC, was unveiled by the Chief Guest.
Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Shrivastava, Hon. Vice-Chancellor, in his presidential remarks, congratulated and thanked all the awardees on behalf of the Chancellor, KAHER, and KLE Society. He emphasized that teachers are the transformers of education and that teaching is all about giving more than what is expected, while addressing the academic, professional, and personal needs of students through both formal and informal education. He highlighted that teachers devote their time, knowledge, and expertise towards shaping the careers and overall development of students, thereby contributing to the growth of the institution, community, society, and the nation.
The teachers and students of all the constituent units of the University were present on this occasion.
