Karnatak Law Society (KLS), an Educational Society that had pioneered Law education in Belgaum in pre-independence India in 1939 (RL Law College), Commerce education in 1954 (Gogte College of Commerce), a similarly impactful first in the form of Engineering education came to fruition in 1979 when, acceding to the persistent demand over many years by leaders of industry and commerce for an Engineering College in Belgaum, the Government of Karnataka permitted KLS to establish an Engineering College in Belgaum. Building a future for an entire generation of students who deserved access to world-class technical education right here, where they lived. Students from across Karnataka and beyond come here year after year, not for the degree alone, but for what comes with it hands-on learning utilising industry-grade infrastructure. Team KLS GIT clinches the National Championship at ASME IMECE BrainBolt 2026, adding 2 Regional Topper Awards to the win.

BrainBolt is a 3-round national-level engineering make-a-thon:
Preliminary: Online industry-driven challenge
Regional: 6-hour regional hackathon
National Finale: Top teams from across regions converged at Anna University, Chennai, to solve industry-given problem statements under a grueling 22-hour deadline, competing against 60 teams from colleges nationwide including NIT Rourkela, Chandigarh University, Dayananda Sagar and many more.

It took grit, teamwork, and 22 sleepless hours to bring the title home.

Five days of cloud training. A lasting impact on how faculty teach and research.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, in association with ICT Academy India, organised a 5-day Faculty Development Programme on Google Cloud Data Analytics, held from 31st August to 4th September 2026.

Under the guidance of Cloud expert Ms Varalaxmi P, Trainer ICT Academy Banglore, faculty members from engineering and degree colleges across Belagavi gained practical experience in data processing, storage, visualization, analytics tools, and cloud-based solutions — skills they can now bring into their classrooms, research work, and industry-relevant projects.
