We are pleased to welcome Dr. Dhiraj as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at IIIT Bhopal.

Dr. Dhiraj brings an interdisciplinary research background encompassing VLSI design, nanotechnology, functional nanomaterials, flexible and wearable electronics, piezoelectric and triboelectric nanogenerators, self-powered nanosensors, and energy-harvesting technologies.

He holds a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from AcSIR, India, and an M.Tech. in VLSI Design from MNIT Jaipur. Prior to joining IIIT Bhopal, he served as a Pool Scientist at the Nanoscale Research Facility, IIT Delhi, where he contributed to the development and characterization of advanced nanomaterials and self-powered electronic devices, with expertise in sophisticated nanoscale characterization techniques. He has also gained research experience through academic engagements with IIT Hyderabad and CSIR laboratories.

His research focuses on flexible and self-powered electronic systems, particularly the integration of nanomaterials, energy harvesters, and sensors for applications in wearable electronics, environmental monitoring, and intelligent sensing systems. His research has been published in leading journals, including Nano Energy, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Materials Horizons, and he also holds a patent. He has further contributed to the research community by serving as a peer reviewer for reputed journals published by leading publishers, including Elsevier and Cell Press.

We believe Dr. Dhiraj’s extensive research experience, expertise, and dedication to teaching will further strengthen the Institute’s academic and research ecosystem.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Kanchan Rajwar as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at IIIT Bhopal.

Dr. Rajwar's research interests span Evolutionary Algorithms, Swarm Intelligence, and Algorithmic Fairness, with a growing focus on Transfer Learning. His work centres on sharing knowledge across metaheuristic algorithms to solve different optimization problems, and includes theoretical contributions to understanding and mitigating structural bias in population-based optimization algorithms.

He received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and his master's degree from the University of Hyderabad. He further broadened his research experience through postdoctoral positions at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), where he worked on Polynomial Multi-Objective Optimization, and at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, where his research focuses on Evolutionary Transfer Learning and Reinforcement Learning.

An active researcher, Dr. Rajwar has published in leading high-impact international journals and in premier CORE Rank A conferences. He also brings a wide network of international research collaborations spanning India, South Africa, Chile, the Czech Republic, and South Korea.

We believe that Dr. Rajwar's research depth, international experience, and dedication to teaching will further strengthen the institute's academic and research ecosystem. We warmly welcome him and wish him every success in this new journey at IIIT Bhopal.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Vishakha Chourasia as Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology at IIIT Bhopal.

Dr. Chourasia's research interests encompass Artificial Intelligence (AI), Explainable AI (XAI), and Metaheuristic Optimization, with applications in Opportunistic Communication and Healthcare Analytics. Her work focuses on designing intelligent systems that enable reliable, transparent, and trustworthy decision-making under uncertainty.

She earned her Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology Raipur and her M.Tech. from NITTTR Bhopal. She further broadened her research experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, and Photonics Institute (TeCIP), Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa, Italy, where she contributed to advancing the robustness of Explainable AI (XAI) for Upper Aero-Digestive Tract (UADT) cancer image analysis.

An active researcher and academic, Dr. Chourasia has published extensively in reputed journals, international conferences and edited book. She also holds two registered design patents granted by the Government of India, reflecting her commitment to innovation and impactful research.

We are confident that Dr. Chourasia's academic expertise, international research experience, and dedication to teaching will further strengthen the institute's vibrant academic and research ecosystem. The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IIIT Bhopal, successfully organized an Industrial Session on 7th August in collaboration with ARUP India.

The session, conducted by experts from ARUP India, provided valuable insights into industry-oriented engineering design and simulation workflows.

The session covered HFSS (High-Frequency Structure Simulator) and other advanced engineering software used in real-world product development, including ADAS antenna systems, waveguides, tees, PCB design verification, thermal verification, component footprints, 3D modeling, and automotive crash-test simulations. Students gained practical exposure to how these technologies are applied across the automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, and electronics industries.

The session provided an excellent opportunity for students to understand current industrial practices, simulation-driven design, and the role of advanced engineering software in modern product development.

We sincerely thank Mr. Arpit Namdev, Regional Manager, ARUP India, and Dr. Chandan Kumar, Application Engineer, ARUP India, for delivering such an insightful and inspiring industrial session.
