UNICEF or the United Nation International Children's Education Fund has its headquarters in New York. UNICEF was created by the United Nation's General Assembly on 11th of December, 1946. Ludwik Arakchan is the founder of UNICEF and the 1st chairman from 1946 to 1950. It was then made to satisfy the urge of children in countries devastated by the World War II.
UNICEF's sole motive is to stand for children's welfare and constant effort towards prevention and treatment of diseases. Henrietta Goldman Fore, the American government officer, is the executive director of the United Nations Children's Fund. UNICEF relies on the contribution from government and private donors. It's program mainly emphasizes on developing community-level service to promote the health and well-being of the children.
It works across 190 countries and territories. UNICEF was regulated in india since 1949 and was mandated to help children meet their basic needs in order to reach their full potential.
