More than 300 students, faculty members and industry professionals came together at MANIT Bhopal for the one-day workshop “Societal Aspects of Nuclear Energy: From the Core to the Citizen”, organized by the Department of Energy Science & Engineering, MANIT Bhopal, in collaboration with the Indian Nuclear Society (INS), Mumbai.

The programme was graced by Dr. Sailendra Jain, Dean (Academic), MANIT Bhopal, as the Chief Guest and Prof. V. K. Manchanda as the Guest of Honour.

Participants had the opportunity to hear from distinguished experts including Shri S. K. Sinha, Shri Sanjay Chouksey, Dr. Jaideep Gupta, Shri K.T.P. Balakrishnan, Dr. Hrishikesh Mishra, Dr. Archana Mishra and Shri A. K. Sinha.

Through engaging talks, discussions and an interactive panel session, the experts explored the many ways nuclear science and technology are shaping society — from energy and nuclear safety to healthcare, agriculture, food security, advanced technologies and sustainable development.

For students, the workshop was also an opportunity to look beyond the classroom, understand emerging career possibilities and interact directly with experienced scientists and professionals.

The programme was held under the guidance of Dr. Arvind Mittal, Professor & Head, Department of Energy Science & Engineering, Convener, with the dedicated coordination of Dr. Gurveer Singh, Dr. Meena Agrawal and Dr. Hrishikesh Mishra.

A day filled with ideas, meaningful conversations and inspiration for the young minds who will help shape India’s scientific and technological future

We are delighted to share that Dr. Sarvesh Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, MANIT Bhopal, has been selected for one of the most well-renowned national level achievements, the prestigious SMC Bronze Medal Award 2026 by the Society for Materials Chemistry (SMC) by BARC Mumbai.

The official confirmation was received from BARC, Mumbai, recognizing his contributions to the field of Materials Chemistry.

The award will be presented during ISMC-2026, Mumbai, in December 2026.

This recognition is a proud achievement for MANIT Bhopal and reflects the institute's growing contributions to advanced research in Materials Chemistry and Computational Materials Science.

From 16 LoIs (Letters of Intent) to foreign universities to overseas campuses of IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad, India is building stronger global partnerships and creating new opportunities for learners.

MANIT Bhopal successfully organised the Faculty Interaction Seminar on "Aerospace Technologies at a Glance" in collaboration with the Aerospace Resources Panel (ARP), AR&DB, DRDO on 05 August 2026.

The seminar provided valuable insights into DRDO research priorities, AR&DB funding opportunities, proposal development, and collaborative research through expert talks by Prof. A. M. Pradeep, Dr. S. K. Pandey, Dr. Amit Saraiya, Dr. O. P. Thakur, and Dr. Swati Biswas, followed by an interactive faculty discussion.

Attended by nearly 85 faculty members, the event, under the leadership of Prof. K. K. Shukla, Director, MANIT Bhopal, reaffirmed the institute's commitment to fostering impactful research, innovation, and strategic collaborations towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.
