The Inter-Departmental Group Dance Competition “Nritya – Nirvana” was organised at The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), providing students with a vibrant platform to showcase their dancing talent, creativity, and artistic expression.

The competition encouraged teamwork, confidence, leadership, and healthy competition while strengthening interaction and collaboration among students from different departments. The Department of Social Work, The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), organised a hybrid seminar on “Labour Codes: Understanding the Changing World of Work” on 24 September 2026, featuring Dr. Shailendra Vishwakarma as the Resource Person.

The seminar brought together 125+ participants representing 16 institutions and explored the transition from 29 central labour laws to four Labour Codes, with discussions covering wages, industrial relations, social security, workplace safety, gig and platform workers, and labour welfare.

The session highlighted the significant intersection of Labour Law, Human Rights, Social Justice, and Social Work practice, offering participants an opportunity to engage with contemporary developments shaping the world of work.

The initiative was conceptualised by Mr. Vinish Shaji, HoD, Department of Social Work, with coordination and support from Dr. Rutwik J. Gandhe and the student team. Dr. Richi Simon, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, BSSS, served as the Event Coordinator.

The BSSS Shobha Yatra, “Saree, Scooty & Shakti – A Culture on Wheel,” was organised today at The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) to commemorate World Tourism Day 2026.

The initiative aimed to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage and diversity while promoting tourism and responsible travel. The vibrant Shobha Yatra also provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, teamwork, cultural awareness, and active participation.

The NSS Orientation Programme for Newly Inducted Students 2026–27 was organised at The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) to introduce new students to the objectives, values, and functioning of the National Service Scheme (NSS).

The programme highlighted the importance of community service, social responsibility, leadership, and volunteerism, encouraging students to actively contribute to the welfare of society.

The orientation marked the beginning of a journey where young minds can learn through service, engage with communities, and develop into responsible and socially conscious citizens.

The Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 was organised at The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) on 18 September 2026.

The event provided students with an opportunity to present innovative, technology-driven solutions to the problem statements identified under SIH 2026. Teams comprising students from various departments showcased their ideas, demonstrating creativity, technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative thinking.

The hackathon served as a platform for students to transform real-world challenges into practical solutions while gaining valuable experience in ideation, solution development, and teamwork.

Shubham Verma of The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) has secured a place among the Top 1000 performers in the BRICS Jan Bhagidari Quiz 2026, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, through the MY Bharat portal under India’s BRICS Chairship 2026.

This achievement reflects his active participation and commitment to engaging with initiatives that promote awareness and youth participation at the national and global level.
