The Department of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with the UltraTech Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Construction Materials, is organizing additional expert sessions to the comprehensive workshop on Waterproofing & Tiling Solutions.

Dr. Swajit Singh Goud and Dr. Manish Dubey will provide in-depth knowledge on essential construction practices and sustainable materials through their sessions on Structural Planning and Technical Aspects in Quality Control, respectively.

The Department of Civil Engineering, under the IEI Student Chapter, organized a One-Day Conclave on the occasion of Engineers' Day with the theme "Engineers as Nation Builders: Pathways to Excellence".

Highlights:
• Group Director Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh paid tribute to Sir M. Visvesvaraya and emphasized the importance of ethical and innovative engineering.
• Principal Dr. Abhishek Choubey outlined the multidimensional focus areas in his welcome address.
• Er. Sunil Joshi (Contractor & Approved Valuer, Joshi & Associates) highlighted the qualities of an ideal engineer, shared practical site insights, and discussed non-traditional career pathways.
• Adv. Varun Shaligram (Founder & Lead Consultant, Contract Care Pvt. Ltd.) explained dispute triggers in projects and showcased arbitration as an efficient resolution framework, emphasizing documentation and legal compliance.
• Er. Mahima Kirar (Consulting Engineer, Bindiya Construction) spoke on women's leadership in planning and ex*****on, sharing challenge-driven solutions.
• Er. Mukesh Shrivastava (Retd. AGM, BHEL) emphasized environmental stewardship and construction site safety through real-life cases.
• An interactive Q&A session and a concluding panel discussion reinforced industry readiness, ethics, sustainability, documentation rigor, and a safety-first culture.

The conclave enhanced student awareness of contemporary competencies, legal literacy in project delivery, and clear career pathways, reaffirming the engineer's role in nation-building.
