"Teaching is the greatest act of optimism." – Colleen Wilcox

Behind every milestone achieved, every fear conquered, and every path discovered, there is a teacher who saw our potential before we could see it ourselves. Teachers do not just impart knowledge; they build character, kindle curiosity, and instill the confidence to navigate the world. Their influence stretches far beyond blackboards and lecture halls, quietly guiding us through every chapter of life.

XIM Alumni Committee wishes a very Happy Teachers’ Day to all the educators, mentors, and guides whose wisdom, patience, and dedication continue to shape minds and inspire futures. Your lessons remain our guiding light.

We are deeply grateful to Mr. Kiran Rana, Mr. Chittranjan Mohanty, and Mr. Giresh Nilekar for dedicating their time and expertise to the summit.

Mr. Kiran Rana, Founder of Kutlerri AI, delivered a compelling address on modern risk management and navigating the unprecedented disruption brought by artificial intelligence. Mr. Chittranjan Mohanty, Founder of Samvi Hifresh Foods, delivered a thought-provoking address on the enduring power of foundational business theory, risk-adjusted value creation, and human intelligence in the age of AI. Drawing from his journey from corporate leadership to bootstrapping a resilient B2B agri-supply chain, he challenged students to look beyond surface-level technology by mastering the core mechanics of risk and framing incisive questions. Emphasizing collective resilience through the Japanese model of teamwork, he urged future managers to build trust-driven, balanced value chains that withstand systemic crises.

Business Excellence Summit '26, the annual business conclave of XIMB, was privileged to host three distinguished speakers.

Ms. Priyanka Ghosh, bringing over 21 years of industry experience across global leaders like Cognizant, Deutsche Bank and Microsoft, delivered an insightful address on ESG, governance, and organizational resilience. Drawing from real-world accounts like the 2008 financial collapse, she illustrated how systemic failures occur when minor checks are overlooked, inspiring students to embrace change and adaptability.

Mr. Debasmit Mohanty shared rich expertise spanning technology, analytics, and entrepreneurship, delivering an address on AI governance and real-world ESG integration. He highlighted the shift from using AI as a basic utility to taking strategic ownership of its ethical application, urging future managers to embed ESG across core business functions.

Mr. Sambitosh Mohapatra, Partner at PwC India leading ESG and Sustainability practices, delivered a compelling address on building resilient organizations at the intersection of technology and sustainability. Challenging the audience to look beyond buzzwords, he outlined seven critical real-world dilemmas, from global North-South policy gaps to greenwashing, urging leaders to anchor choices in cutting-edge technology and long-term value.

We are deeply grateful to Mr. Sambitosh Mohapatra, Mr. Debasmit Mohanty, and Ms. Priyanka Ghosh for dedicating their time and expertise to the summit.

Business Excellence Summit '26, the annual business conclave of XIMB, was honoured to host Ms. Jayati Dwivedy as a guest speaker. A proud alumna of Xavier Institute of Management, XIM University, Bhubaneswar, batch of 1991, Ms. Dwivedy completed her PGDM specializing in marketing and finance. She began her professional career with Steel Authority of India Limited, before moving into a variety of business roles, serving as Head of Business Operations at GTL Limited and later as Product Manager at BFL Software, which gave her an early grounding in business, products and customers.

Her journey then took her to Genpact, where she built a significant tenure, progressing from IT Relationship Manager to Associate Vice President. She went on to join Korn Ferry Futurestep as Director, Client Solutions, before serving as Head of Recruitment for India, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa at British Telecom. Today, she serves as Head of Talent Acquisition, Enterprise for EMEA and Asia at Philips, a global leader in health technology, while also leading Global Talent Services for Enterprise Operations and Integrated Supply Chain. Her career has traversed manufacturing, telecom, consulting and healthcare across India, North America and EMEA, giving her a rare ability to connect people and strategy with meaningful business outcomes.

Speaking candidly and without a prepared script, she framed AI as something of an equalizer for today's graduating students, arguing that they are, in many ways, better placed to handle it than professionals who have spent decades in the industry. Drawing on her own experience of leading people functions through multiple rounds of organizational transformation, she spoke about the everyday challenge of deciding where to actually apply AI, the limits of standardizing HR practices across very different regulatory environments, and how her own team recently built and rolled out a small AI tool once the right compliance checks were in place. Her advice to students was to approach the changes ahead with a free mind rather than fear.

Business Excellence Summit '26, the annual business conclave of XIMB, was honoured to host Mr. Bivas Mishra as a guest speaker. An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Management, XIM University, Bhubaneswar, batch of 2006, Mr. Mishra began his academic journey with an engineering degree from Utkal University before moving into management at XIMB. He was a member of the Students' Executive Council and also served as Coordinator of X-Sys. With over 20 years centered on consulting in the banking domain, he has worked with Wipro, Societe Generale and Birlasoft, before joining Capgemini, where he currently serves as Director. Outside of his professional life, he has also completed certifications in nutrition and fitness.

Speaking largely in conversation with the audience, Mr. Mishra explored how large organizations, especially in banking and insurance, can modernize ageing IT systems without breaking what already works. He used the well known example of Kodak, a company that actually invented the digital camera yet failed to act on its own innovation, to underline how easy it is for market leaders to fall behind. He also spoke about AI's growing role in summarizing and organizing information, the rising importance of cybersecurity as a board level decision rather than a purely technical one, and why long term planning for resilience allows organizations to recover faster and grow stronger after a crisis.

We express our gratitude to Mr. Bivas Mishra for taking the time to share his invaluable insights with the students.

Business Excellence Summit '26, the annual business conclave of XIMB, was honoured to host Mr. Gaurav Chawla as a guest speaker. An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Management, Mr. Chawla has a 27-year track record in business development, consulting, technology and leadership, having worked with firms including TCS and the Aditya Birla Group. With over 15 years of experience in the BFSI IT space, he is known as an AI evangelist and thought leader, closely tracking AI-led digital transformation and the growth of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India. Speaking on the theme "Build to Bend, Not to Break," he spoke about what it actually takes for organizations, and individuals, to stay resilient as change keeps arriving faster than anyone expects.

His central point was simple: every company these students join will hit some form of major disruption within the next five years, and no one will see it coming on any dashboard. Real resilience, he said, isn't about predicting that moment but about how fast an organization can get back on its feet once it happens. Using examples like IBM's AI-driven supply chain and the three-decade evolution of India's GCC industry, he warned that the same push for efficiency and consolidation that makes companies strong can also make them fragile. He ended by telling students that their biggest asset going forward won't be a technical skill at all, but the ability to change their mind before events force them to.

We express our gratitude to Mr. Gaurav Chawla for taking the time to share his invaluable insights with the students.
