ICICI Securities :- The Stockmind Game

A seminar was held on 13th January, 2018 in our college, Regional College of Management, taken by Ms. Smita Chakraborty, Zonal Marketing Manager from ICICI Securities. This seminar is being conducted every year in our college to boost up students to take part in a stock trading competition called Stockmind game. This game can be played by post graduate students as well as undergraduate students. Here students are provided with virtual money of Rs 15 lakhs in their Stockmind game account which can be used by the students for trading on 7 trading days by logging into their account. This game will commence on Monday ( 15th January ) and will end on Tuesday ( 23rd January ).
About the seminar
The seminar was based to induce stock trading knowledge to the students through a practical trading interface. Throughout the seminar Ms. Smita explained to the students how financial news can have an impact on the stock price fluctuations and how well we can anticipate about such fluctuations through daily financial news. She also gave an idea about the overall functioning of the financial markets by throwing light upon some basic stock related terms like share, stock, risk, return, margin trading, rolling settlement, capital growth, etc.
Rules of the game
• Each student can have only 1 user ID else will be disqualified.
• The turnover cannot exceed Rs 3 crores.
• Trades will be settled on T+2 rolling settlement basis.
• There is an option of buy today and sell tomorrow (BTST).
• The college winner will go on to participate in the national round where there is a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and 2 tickets for a trip to Singapore.
• The college winner will also get some vouchers/coupons.
• The students who will be able to get himself enlisted on the dashboard (of the college) will be awarded merit e-certificates.

The Career Development Group / Training Center of Excellence conducts special course for all PGDM, MBA,BBA, BCA, MFC students. This is a 3 credit course. Scope of courses includes Aptitude, Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Soft skills, Group discussions, Interviews and Personality Development classes. Various tests to analyze the skills of the students are also conducted. These activities can be seen as the vital link between the technical student and the career-ready young professional.
