We would like to congratulate our alumnus Mr Vineet Arora (Batch 1994-96) for being appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Aegon Life Insurance, effective January 2018. He has previously been associated with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance in sales related roles rising to Senior VP - bancassurance and alliance. Since 2008, he has helped building a profitable multichannel distribution business as Senior General Manager, head of product, distribution, marketing and wealth management at ICICI Securities. The final day of was one of the most awaited days since the last 3 months. This was the day that would keep people on their toes and the icing on the cake was supposed to be Farhan Akhtar’s performance. The day started with an amazingly brilliant beginning of vocal , instrumentation and dancing through VIRASAAT. The day also saw the finals of gaming competitions like Gladiator and Skill City. Day 3 also included the finals of an enthralling RJ Hunt. This day also had events like Maven in which participants presented their best strategic solution , Parikrama an online competition , Tradewars – The trading competition. With the finals of Spardha it concluded with finding a capable social entrepreneur. The third day also included a stellar performance by the home team in Thirkaan where they won the runners up prize by dancing their way to everyone’s heart. The Aghaaz of nukkad natak also kept everyone glued on this day while waiting for the biggest event. The Xpressions’17 finally concluded with a stellar performance by Farhan Akhtar and his band that it simply blew everyone’s mind away. That concluded the day and 3 day fest that is sure to remain in memories of everyone invlolved.

The frolic and exuberance continued on the 2nd day of xpressions with a melange of business and cultural events which showcased creativity and passion of students across all branches. Business simulation games such as Helios, Chakravyuh and Gladiator conducted their 2nd round which tested the mettle of students. Urbraniac, conducted by Habitux, in which innovative business models were presented on critical topics which affects our daily life. Vriddhi a CSR case study competition and Case in point - an online stimulation case study event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students. Inquizzitive - an event organized by Xquizzite tested the general knowledge of students.Case connect, conducted by XSYS in which students brainstormed and presented insights regarding current telecom industry. Goonj the solo singing competition brought forth the budding talents in our college. MUN - an interactive event on international events and Maven - a national level case study competition based on strategy got concluded today with enthusiastic participation and great applause. Fun events such as Parikrama-a treasure hunt event and Pratibimb were also conducted. Finally, the showstopper of the day was 'Decibelz- War of bands'. The music bands from different parts of the country battled out against each other while enthralling the crowd with their melodious music.Thus the 2nd day of Xpressions was a huge success which resulted in a huge turn up of students from different parts of the country.

The most awaited spell-bounding ethereal event Xpressions 2017 reached the zenith of exuberance and valour on Day 1 . The day started with many business simulation events., many fun events of respective branches like HR EXPRESS,which induced the spirit of sportsmanship among many aspiring contestants. The day created a benchmark by events conducted by various committees which included SKILL CITY, GLADIATOR, HELIOS,KURUKSETRA GOONJ-singing competition with a blend of western and classical singing, HANDICRAFT SELLING for social purpose- made by people from NGOs and mess workers , PAINT@XIMB-Painting competition,Vaktritwa-extempore competition on social issues, FLIGHT OF FANCY-an event by literary committee. It was followed up an alluring surreal fashion show CARNIVAL DE VOGUE where different colleges were invited for active participation.The day wrapped with EDM night by LOST STORIES which escalated the swinging mood in everyone and made the night a standalone day to remember.

We present to you the KYA of Mr. Satya Mahapatra , who is an alumnus of the 2002 batch of XIMB and has been part of the Investment Banking and Financial Service Sector for more than 17 years. Currently he is the Vice President (Risk & Analytics) at the Barclays Investment Bank. He has contributed remarkably in varied roles such as Delivery and Project Manager for Credit and Market Risk programs, Sr Analyst for Algo Trading Platforms, and Business Consulting in Operations and Technology. He has given a picture of the present banking industry and how automation is taking it to new heights. Athlos, the Annual Sports Festival of XIMB was held from 13th to 15th Oct, 2017. It witnessed enormous participation of enthused athletes from the finest B-Schools including IIFT Kolkata and VGSoM. The distinguished chief guest for the opening ceremony, “Mrs. Minati Mohapatra”, the “Arjuna Awardee Cyclist”, and Fr. Arockia fuelled our participants’ spirit with words of sportsmanship and motivation. Athlos kick-started with the gentleman’s game - Cricket and covered Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, volleyball, Throw-ball, Chess and Badminton over 3 days. It is of immense joy that 10 out of 11 events were won by XIMB and in 2 events the XIMB-Alumni bagged the runners-up position. With incessant hard work of The Sports Committee and unabated spirit and support of the students cheering for the athletes, Athlos was a major success.
