The SIH 2026 Internal Hackathon at Silicon University brought together shortlisted student teams for an intense day of ideation, coding, problem-solving and innovation.

From screening on 7–8 September to the final 12-hour challenge on 19 September, our students turned ideas into solutions and presented them before an expert industry panel from Infosys, TCS and Trinovate Makerspace.

On 15th September, 2026, the Silicon Innovation & Promotion Cell (SIPC), successfully conducted an insightful workshop on "Technology Architecture of Autonomous Drones" at Silicon University, featuring Mr. Sukanta Nanda, Founder, Shelduck Al Systems.

The session explored how AI, sensors, and embedded systems work together to enable drones to perceive, decide, and navigate autonomously. 🤖

🌐 27th Annual Faculty Convention of ISTE Odisha Section

The 27th Annual Faculty Convention of ISTE Odisha Section is being held at Silicon University, Odisha, on 11–12 September 2026, on the theme “Enhancing Faculty Development in the Digital Age.”

The convention brings together academicians and experts to discuss digital education, AI, faculty development, innovative pedagogy, outcome-based education and academia–industry collaboration.

A special panel discussion on “Reimagining Teaching and Learning in Professional Education: Bridging Academia, Technology and Industry” highlighted the need to embrace emerging technologies while preserving the fundamentals and human values of education.

The convention provides a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, professional development and shaping the future of higher education.

Day 2 & Day 3 | IC-SIT 2026 | 9–10 September

From AI that navigates uncertainty to AI reshaping the way science is shared. 🤖🔬

Day 2 featured Padma Shri Prof. Sankar Kumar Pal on Granular Computing, Deep Learning, Video Analytics, and Z-numbers, exploring more reliable decision-making in complex and uncertain environments.

Day 3 featured Dr. Ashok Srinivasan on AI-driven open science cyberinfrastructure and its potential to transform how scientific knowledge is created, shared, and reused.

The celebration reignited memories of a remarkable 25-year journey and gave us a moment to look back with pride and gratitude.

The dedicated staff members who have been with Silicon for 25 years were specially recognized for their invaluable contribution. We also felicitated former directors for their leadership and role in shaping the institution’s journey. 🙏

Our Chief Guest, Dr. Debasis Dash, Director, BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences, shared an insightful perspective on “Deep Ocean Mission: Unlocking India’s Marine Biotech Potential.” 🌊🔬

And what better way to celebrate than with the Silicon family coming together through vibrant cultural performances by our staff and students! 🎶💙

Day 1 of IC-SIT 2026: An inspiring beginning to three days of ideas, innovation, and research!

Silicon University proudly inaugurated the 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Sustainable Innovation in Technology (IC-SIT 2026), organized by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Applications, from 8th–10th September 2026.

The day began with an inspiring inaugural ceremony, graced by distinguished personalities from space science, technology, and academia.

🚀 Padma Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman, ISRO, joined us as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker.

🚀 Dr. Radhakant Padhi, HAG Professor and Prof. Satish Dhawan Chair, joined us as the Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker.

Both distinguished speakers have been associated with India’s remarkable Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3 missions, inspiring the audience with their invaluable insights and experiences in India’s journey of space exploration, technological advancement, and innovation.

We were also honoured by the presence of Prof. Subhransu Ranjan Samantaray, Chair, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section, as the Distinguished Guest.

With IEEE Bhubaneswar Section as the Technical Co-Sponsor, the inaugural ceremony set an inspiring tone for the conference.

Following the inauguration, Day 1 continued with technical paper presentation sessions, bringing researchers and academicians together to present their work, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful discussions on intelligent computing and sustainable technology.
