Internship Programme 2026

The Department of Political Science, Bijni College organized the Internship Programme 2026 for FYUGP 4th Semester students under the syllabus of Bodoland University.

A Soft Skill Programme on Seminar Writing, Internship Report Preparation, and Presentation was held on 24 March 2026 at Teachers’ Conference Hall, Bijni College. The internship activities began from 25 March 2026 and continued till 23rd May 2026.

As part of the programme, students visited Bijni Municipal Board on 26 and 27 March 2026 to gain practical knowledge about municipal administration and governance processes. Students maintained attendance, internship diaries, and activity records during the programme.

The internship reports were submitted on 30 April 2026, and the Internship Viva was conducted on 4 May 2026. After successful completion of the 30-hour internship course, certificates were issued on 23rd May 2026 to the students.

The programme helped students develop practical understanding, reporting skills, and knowledge of local governance and administration.

Add-on Course on “Know Your Constitution”

The Department of Political Science, Bijni College, Bijni organized an Add-on Course on “Know Your Constitution” for the students of the department.

The Induction Programme of the course was held on 28th April, 2026 at the Teachers’ Conference Hall, Bijni College. An Online Examination was conducted on 19th May, 2026 through Google Form.

After successful completion of the course, the Certificate Distribution Programme was held on 23rd May, 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Bijni College.

The programme was conducted successfully with active participation and enthusiasm from the students.

The Department of Political Science, Bijni College, Bijni organized a Career Guidance and Counselling Programme along with an Orientation Session on the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) on 23rd May, 2026 in the Seminar Hall, Bijni College.

The programme was conducted to create awareness among students regarding career opportunities and the structure and significance of the FYUGP system.

The programme was graced by the respected Principal and Vice-Principal of Bijni College.

The resource persons for the session were:

1. Mr. Bibakananda Roy, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, Bijni College

2. Mr. Satyajit Sarkar, TGT, Sishu Kalyan High School

3. Mr. Budhadav Shil, Department of Political Science, Bodoland University

The speakers delivered valuable lectures on career planning, higher education opportunities, and the benefits of FYUGP. The students actively participated and benefited greatly from the programme.

A programme on “Promoting Electoral Literacy Among First-Time Voters” was organized on 19th March 2026 at Bijni College by the SVEEP Cell, DEO, Chirang, in collaboration with the SVEEP Cell and Department of Political Science, Bijni College.

The programme was attended by Abdul Motlib, ACS and Priyam Bora, ACS, Chirang. Principal Dr. Birhashgiri Basumatary, Vice Principal Sabita Ray, and IQAC Coordinator Dr. Babul Basumatary were present along with faculty members Bibekananda Roy and Abhijit Ray.

The event included an awareness campaign, essay writing competition, and tree plantation. The programme was informative and aimed at encouraging first-time voters to participate actively in the electoral process.
