श्रावण मास के प्रथम सोमवार के पावन अवसर पर इतिहास विभाग के बी.ए. (ऑनर्स) प्रथम वर्ष के नवप्रवेशित विद्यार्थियों द्वारा वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक पौधारोपण कर पर्यावरण संरक्षण, प्रकृति संवर्धन तथा सतत् विकास के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त की। यह कार्यक्रम भारतीय सांस्कृतिक परम्पराओं और प्रकृति के प्रति उत्तरदायित्व की भावना का प्रतीक रहा तथा विद्यार्थियों को हरित एवं स्वच्छ पर्यावरण के संरक्षण हेतु प्रेरित किया।

Department of History Organizes Extension Lecture on the Battle of Rati Ghati

Rao Jaitsi of Bikaner Emerged Victorious in the Battle of Rati Ghati and Secured the Western Frontier: Dr. Chakravarti Narayan Shrimali

Rao Jaitsi of Bikaner achieved a decisive victory over external forces in the Battle of Rati Ghati during the medieval period, thereby securing the western frontier. These views were expressed by the keynote speaker, Dr. Chakravarti Narayan Shrimali, during an extension lecture organized by the Department of History, Maharaja Ganga Singh University.
Dr. Shrimali, of the Government Engineering College, presented a detailed account of the Battle of Rati Ghati based on his book on the subject. Addressing the students, he stated that the land of Bikaner has been nourished by the blood and sacrifices of its brave warriors.
Earlier, Dr. Meghna Sharma, Head of the Department of History, welcomed the participants and strongly urged students to study not only the history covered in the curriculum but also regional history and the wider historical context beyond the syllabus.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before the portrait of Goddess Saraswati. Introducing the theme of the lecture, Dr. Gopal Vyas described the Battle of Rati Ghati as one of the most decisive battles of medieval Indian history, in which external forces were defeated by local powers.
The programme was conducted by Guest Faculty Dr. Mukesh Harsh, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Jaspreet Singh. Following the lecture, students including Bhagwan Joshi, Vandana Purohit, and Sanjana Suthar shared their views on the historical significance of the Battle of Rati Ghati.
The event was attended by Dr. Ritesh Vyas, Rinku Joshi, Bhagwan Das Suthar, Dr. Sanjana Chaudhary, Sushila Bishnoi, Bajrang Kalwani, Umesh Purohit, and postgraduate students of the Department of History.
