The Department of Physical Education, University of Burdwan, is honored to host the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations at the Mohanbagan Sports Complex, where the spirit of unity and wellness will soar. The ceremony will be ignited by the revered Vice-Chancellor, amidst the distinguished presence of dignitaries and delegates from far and wide, gathering to kindle the flame of harmony. The event will begin at 6:30 am and culminate at 8 am with a heartfelt expression of gratitude.

The NSS Cell & Dept. Of Physical Education, University of Burdwan, jointly organizing a grand celebration Programme on the occasion of International Day of Yoga on 21st June, 2026 at 6:15 A.M. at Mohanbagan Sports Complex.

The Programme will be conducted in accordance with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, focusing on the importance of yoga for physical fitness, mental wellness, healthy lifestyle, and active ageing.

Only for University students, Research Scholars are cordially invited to participate in this mega yoga celebration Programme.

Our Target 200 students of this University, Registration shall be considered strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

N.B:- T- Shirts & Certificates will be provided to all active participants.

A One-Day Workshop on Physiotherapy was successfully organized by Dr. Gopa Saha Roy, TIC, Department of Physical Education and Programme Officer, NSS Cell Unit II, The University of Burdwan, in collaboration with the NSS Cell, The University of Burdwan on yesterday 15th June 2026.

The programme was graced by the presence of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Hon'ble Registrar, Assistant Accounts Officer, Electrical Engineer, NSS Programme Coordinator, and NSS Unit Officers of the University.

The workshop featured expert sessions by Dr. Santiranjan Dasgupta and Mr. Rajesh Basak of East Bengal Football Club East Bengal FC , who shared valuable insights on physiotherapy, sports injury management, and rehabilitation.

More than 220 students, including research scholars, actively participated in the programme. The workshop resolved to promote awareness of physiotherapy, preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, and community well-being through continued educational initiatives.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Rajesh Das, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, The University of Burdwan.
