Electrical Engineering Society Established in 2013. Teaching has been given its due importance since the inception of the department. degree. of India assisted by World Bank.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Chaibasa Engineering College offers a vibrant environment for undergraduate education and research in Electrical Engineering. About Us:
Chaibasa Engineering College was established in the year 2013 and the Department of Electrical Engineering has been one of the major departments of the Institute. The department began with fifty-six under graduate students and three faculty members; currently, the department has nine faculty members, one ninety undergraduate students. With a very short span of time the department was enhanced excellent learning environment with dedicated young faculty members, technical staff, excellent laboratories and innovative academic processes. In order to perform the complex problem in modern application of Electrical Engineering, the department has a well combination of hardware and software facilities. Apart from this department of Electrical Engineering had a leading role for the upliftment of rural community and as well as the institution. Many Faculty members are active in research area related to their subjects that they teach in the classes. The number of faculty members are active for counselling to the students and the students are also supportive in various departmental activities. Many Alumni of the department have held prominent position in academic institution, industries and Government organization. The department is fortunate that the department have teachers pursuing research towards Ph.D. The department is well equipped with major equipment’s needs for research point of view and facilitate the under graduate students in laboratory. Recently in the year 2017 the department got the financial support from TEQIP-III projects initiated by MHRD; Govt. There is a strong collaboration with industry in the past 2 years and the number of laboratories was established through such collaboration to facilitate our students. The vision of the Department:

To impart fundamental electrical engineering concepts with the help of a well-defined academic curriculum, which will contribute to the employability, and higher education of engineering graduates and help to make socially responsible electrical engineers. The mission of the Department:

To emphasize more on basic science education at the beginning of the program. To provide an interactive teaching-learning process to determine the interest of the student towards higher education and employability. therefore, encourage them in that direction through proper guidelines. To impart awareness of electrical engineering education as per the modern-day’s requirements. To inculcate social needs and responsibilities with extra co-curriculum.

⚡ Wall Painting Initiative | Department of Electrical Engineering 🎨

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Chaibasa Engineering College, organized a creative Wall Painting Initiative with the enthusiastic participation of students from the 2024–28 batch.

The initiative focused on showcasing the recent trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in Electrical Engineering through artistic wall paintings. Students beautifully transformed their creative ideas into visual representations of modern electrical engineering concepts, including renewable energy, smart grids, electric vehicles, automation, power systems, and sustainable energy technologies.

Beyond academics, the activity provided students with an opportunity to express their creativity, teamwork, technical awareness, and artistic talent. The vibrant wall paintings reflect the students' enthusiasm towards learning and their vision for the future of Electrical Engineering.

Initiative coordinate by Dr.Debabrata Roy ,Associate Professor,Electrical Engineering. Thanks for his continous support and dedication.

A one-day awareness and knowledge-sharing session on “Harnessing Earth’s Natural Energy” was conducted on 26 September 2026 as part of the 1st Year Induction Program 2026 – “Pratham Pravesh” at Chaibasa Engineering College.

The session was delivered by Prof. Subhabrata Boral, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, with the objective of introducing newly admitted students to the importance and potential of renewable and sustainable energy resources.

During the session, students were introduced to various forms of naturally available energy, including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and biomass energy. The discussion highlighted the growing global demand for clean energy, the need to reduce dependence on conventional fossil fuels, and the role of emerging technologies in achieving a sustainable energy future.

The session also emphasized the relevance of Electrical Engineering in renewable energy generation, power conversion, energy storage, smart grids and efficient utilization of natural resources. Through practical examples and interactive discussion, students were encouraged to develop an interest in sustainable technologies and explore innovative solutions for future energy challenges.

The session provided the newly inducted students with valuable insights into the significance of renewable energy and motivated them to contribute towards building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.

Chaibasa Engineering College successfully conducted its 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jhinkpani. It was our very first DICE event as a mentor institute.

🎓 Our Principal-in-Charge, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐚, led the session and introduced students to the key skills of entrepreneurship.

💡 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬.

The students learned how to identify real-life problems and think through viable solutions to them.

🎓 **NSS/NCC Session | 1st Year Induction Program 2026**

As part of the **1st Year Induction Program 2026** at **Chaibasa Engineering College**, an engaging and informative session on **NSS (National Service Scheme) and NCC (National Cadet Corps)** was conducted for the newly admitted students.

The session was conducted by **Dr. Debabrata Roy, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering**, who introduced the students to the objectives, values, activities, and opportunities associated with NSS and NCC.

The session emphasized the importance of **discipline, leadership, social responsibility, teamwork, community service, and nation-building** in the overall development of engineering students. Students were encouraged to actively participate in co-curricular and community-oriented activities alongside their academic pursuits.

The session provided the first-year students with valuable insights into how NSS and NCC can contribute to their **personality development, leadership skills, and responsible citizenship**.
