Following are the Speaking Events for Verve 2019:

1. ULTIMATE DEBATE
(Conventional Debate + Turncoat)

Convention Debate seeks to bring together and find harmony in the Logos Pathos Ethos of your speech and test you on what it truly means to be a good speaker- logically clear, relevant and moving. For the ones with an ambition, the ones seeking to bring change and the ones with a vision, Verve proudly presents Conventional Debate.
Followed by, of course, Turncoat Debate- a form of debate that brings out all that’s good about debating and puts it in a setting of utmost tension, with you requiring to either betray yourself every time to judge taps or to evolve your argument. Pick a side and then change your stance multiple times followed by a session of direct questions pointed at testing your mettle. It is exciting, it is testing, it requires you to be a turncoat.
14th April, 10AM in L10/11

2. JUST-A-MINUTE (JAM):
Just-A-Minute is an event that will test your patience, perseverance, focus and of course, speaking and quick-thinking abilities. The goal is simple: Monologue for one minute without hesitation, repetition or deviation, all the while with your competitors ready to pounce on any small error you may commit, be it a hint of the slightest nod.
13th April, 10AM in L10/11

3. GROUP DISCUSSION:
All good speakers know how to get their point across, but not how to listen. So, what happens when you put half a dozen such speakers at the same place? A Group Discussion, decided by who is able to emerge the loudest, smartest and most logical while maintaining the decorum of a good discussion. To emerge as best speaker, you have to be the best listener.
