We all know about our love for the English language. It certainly is lovely. And not only you, I too, use English as a medium to express myself. But do you not think that in the process of becoming English N***s we are somewhere side-lining our native languages? We are all becoming judgemental somewhere. This Saturday 'Salient Saturday' brings to you some questions that we all need to answer to ourselves first and then maybe we would not look at the world in the same way.
1. Is it more important to be educated or to have accurate knowledge?
2. Is English the only criteria to judge somebody's abilities?
3. Are we all becoming hypocrites?
4. Is it always good to be judgemental?
5. Is it fair enough to belittle someone who does not have fluency in English?
6. Is it good enough to discourage people who want to try?
7. How often do we Language Shame people and get away with it so easily?
8. Is India losing it's ethnicity?
9. Why do we feel a sense of shame within us to use our native languages?

10. If I wrote all of these questions in Hindi, would you still mind giving it a glance?

Think maybe?

The Nature Nurturer brings to you her own version of the Indian dream. Many of us at one point or the other have lived our own Indian Dream, many still continue to.

Take a look at this Indian dream, reconnect with your own version of it or perhaps create a new one altogether.
For before we go on the path of innovative changes one must first dream.

Come live my Indian dream…

Where the housing streets smell of tempering mustard seeds in ghee…

The abode of evil spirits, hosts the peepul tree…

The hazy days and starry nights..

A starving poor man’s plight..

The paper boats that swam in puddles

A mother’s tight cuddle..

The Warmer the Homecoming

The harder leaving…

Myriad blee seasons gleam..

Come live my Indian dream!

Where the Ganges stoops from Kailash

Where the desert burns and hills are lush..

The kullhad tea aromatic and hot

Sipping and savouring from the mud pot…

The “Godhuli” when the cattle returns to barn..

Where the old woman’s knitting creates multiple loops of yarn…

The sunset and vicinity all serene…

Come live my Indian dream..

The dusk and dawn the entwined twins..

One looses one wins…

Memory lane of childhood traced again..

That wet sand aroma after the rain….

The pious lamp that scatters its beams…

Come live my Indian dream!!

With all pomp and shower Scoop was all geared up to wish it's lovely family of PGGCG-42 a very happy Holi but then we didn't ?
Wonder why ?
Because as I went from the grocery shop to my place without a single egg thrown at me which was good *who likes to be bombarded with eggs or water balloons* but it made me realise Holi is dying or perhaps already dead.
I would be the first to admit that I love Snapchat, but yesterday I questioned the love that we all harbour for social media. I will not start on the forever long debate on social media "a boon or a bane". Because there's no doubt that it's a blessing.
The culprit here is not technology or the progressing world. The one to be blamed are "the great mortal beings ".
Snapchat , Instagram , Facebook they all started with the simple aim to increase human bond. Reconnecting lost souls , keeping your moments in store for that rainy day when you want to walk down the memory lane again and sharing your memories and happiness with your loved ones. But we have changed the very core of this beautiful platform. Memories and moments today are a reminder of good hair days , flawless skin and anything and everything that makes you look like you are supposedly having the best life ever.
So this Holi we at Scoop didn't shout out our love for colours , we didn't dance in excitement to finally get our hands on those delectable Holi sweets and we certainly didn't smile wide to show a hint of white on an otherwise colourful face.
This Holi we chose to be silent. In remembrance of the Holi we once knew.
For no matter how many Snap stories , Insta live videos and Facebook posts boasted of colours all around, no amount of colour flying in the air or the internet could change the fading picture of India.

Belated Happy Holi.

Let's bring the colours of India back ?
Wisdom to you,

And we are back.... with Nature Nurturer once again.
This time to take you on to a dreamy lane. A lane that leads to an altogether different path of love.

ON THE BOUNDLESS DREAM LANE

I sit to write about those pea green meadows,

And those peaceful backwood marshes,

The sun that has set and the sun that rises.

I sit to write about the tinder in the bonfire,

that warms up the soul on those cold winter mornings.

And the dead leaves that fall down and fill the pavements during the autumnal stormings.

I know not, from where does your mentioning start,

while writing about these charming affairs!!

And I chant your remeberance like a morning prayer!

Is it your mention or some fragrance that charges up my veins with ecstasy.

But then the tears roll down my cheeks,
And make the paper wet with my inabilities.

I hold back the tears and drown in my boundless reveries!

There’s where I meet you without any rush!

We don’t make love, love makes us!

Love for nature might still be there in our hearts but like the true us has gone deep into the depths of our soul so has this love.
So every Monday look out for this post that will help you rediscover nature and the real you.

Introducing another facet of Scoop!
Nature Nurturer 👒

Sorts of sorrows!

Pity for those naked Mountains,
That yearn for a prod of snow!
Sorrow for the snowy terrains,
That dire for the benevolence of gaiety.
Sad for those hired hands returning in the silence of the dark; empty and crestfallen!
The growling stomachs whacked to the sham sympathies of politicos.
Some count blessings to be blessed to worldly pleasures,
While to others, blessing is a “one time meal”
The wrinkles of poverty glooped on the appalling visages.
The autumnal silence hanging on the great rooted blossomers.
Like every coin has two faces,
So does the globe.
One encompassing brightness,
The other, Kalahandi phoebe.

Valentine's Day the much awaited day for those who love.

Love life, books, food, family , friends or that someone special. But in an ever evolving world love evolved too. And it altered so much that falling out of love became the new anthem of old school souls. Days that once enchanted all romantics , now troubled those same souls who couldn't bear the dubious and pretentious new face of love. This is my heart's true desire on this day of love. To bring back the charm , grace and magic of love that once mesmerized all fanatics and romantics alike.

Every time I asked you to get me flowers for the sake of love that we had, you would get me all the thorns and just like that I fell out of love. Every time I asked you to turn on the lights to bring some brightness in the love that was slowly diminishing, you would turn them dim and just like that I fell out of love. Every time I asked you for a cup of coffee for I loved the smell of it just like our first love, you would get me a cup of tea and just like that I fell out of love. Every time I asked you to wear a black shirt for you looked the best in it to me, you would end up wearing white and just like that I fell out of love. Every time I waited for you in the veranda to sit and have a glass of wine together, you would take me out for a dinner and just like that I fell out of love. In this ever evolving world , love changed in such a way that I fell out of love.

Hoping you fell out of this new love too,
Wisdom to you,

Do you recall Sanjay Dutt giving "Jaadu ki Jhaapi" to everyone in the movie "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S?" Yeah!So do I.Didn't we all love him for doing so? Didn't we all try to imitate him at some point when we were kids? Then why not now?

I've always wondered what is it about celebrating the valentines week or the week of love just once a month in a year.
Why can't we celebrate it every month or every week or just everyday?
Why do we need a particular day to showcase our love to our loved ones? If you ask me I would just love it if someone came up to me and gave me a hug and told me " It's alright! You are doing great" when I am having a bad day. I would atleast forget all my problems for once and smile.

Let's just be honest to ourselves and admit that at some point we all do need someone to tell us that everything is going to be fine and give a warm hug. Wouldn't that just lessen the burdens that we've been carrying in our hearts? Would you not like a "Jhappi" that works like "Jaadu" from a loved one of yours? If you ever feel low in life just remember there are people who love you, care for you and would refuse to give up on you even if you do so. So just go and ask them for a hug and cry your heart out. Trust me " Everything is going to be fine."

Till then,
Our supply of free hugs will never end,
Free hugs anyone?

And once again it's time that Sailent Saturday introduces you to 10 important questions that we all must acknowledge. So, let's get started with the game of 10 questions and instrospect a little...
1: Is love only about having a boyfriend or a girlfriend or is it something beyond this?
2: Do we romanticize everything on purpose or is it just the way we look at the world?
3: Do we need seriously need only one particular day to love our loved ones?
4: Are people the one's who benefit from love or is it the hallmark creators?
5: In today's world love heals or love hurts?
6: Is being in love a burden?
7: Is is true that the love that once made us a confident being is now making us lose our true identity?
8: Is it important to be a good listener in a relationship?
9: Can love change our perspective of looking at things?
10: Is westernization taking over our Indianness?

Like every week we at scoop hope that these questions give you an urge to think over it and help you find the answers.

You hear a noise of your neighbor getting beaten by her husband at 2 a.m, but you go back to sleep because you promised not to interfere in other's matter.
The other morning you see someone strangling their dog on the street, but you don't stop chasing your bus because you promised not to miss it one more time.
You leave your dream behind because you promised to follow your dad's.
You leave the love of your life because you promised the society that you'll follow the norms.
You wait whole your life for someone else to promise you eternity.
But , Unlike you all.
We all promise to stand up to the violence against humanity , to be the voice of the one's who are unable to speak.
We promise to follow our own dreams and marry the one we love.
We promise eternity to ourselves.
We promise to stand up for what's right and this year we promise to give a new definition to PROMISES.
But the questions is ,
Will you?

Promise to all the promises that you'll be fulfilled,
Wisdom to you,
ScoopSavvy.
