Stepping out of the studio and into history! 🏛️✨

At TASA, we believe that heritage is more than a photograph. Our recent study tour gave students the opportunity to immerse themselves in architectural wonders, capture stories, rituals, and memories, and get up close to record materials, details, and traditional building methods.

Just as every great architectural marvel begins with a single sketch, the blueprint of our incredible nation was drafted in the minds of our visionary freedom fighters. Today, we celebrate the courage, design, and foundation of a free India.

Happy 79th Independence Day from all of us at RVS Chennai Padmavathy School of Architecture! Let's continue building a brighter future, together. 🧡🤍💚

From observing thoughtfully designed learning environments to understanding how architecture shapes curiosity, collaboration, and childhood experiences, our Semester 03 students immersed themselves in an inspiring Montessori case study. Visiting The Montessori House, Madipakkam by MAWI Design Studio and Abacus Montessori School, Perungudi designed by Laurie Baker offered valuable insights into child-centric planning, spatial experience, materiality, and the seamless relationship between built form and learning. A day of observing, documenting, questioning, and learning beyond the classroom—because the best architectural lessons are experienced in real spaces.

Our 2nd Year Architecture students visited Montessori House as part of their case study to understand how architecture shapes a child's learning environment. From observing child-centric spatial planning and ergonomics to exploring the relationship between built spaces and the Montessori philosophy, the visit offered invaluable insights beyond the classroom.

Through sketches, measurements, and discussions, students gained a deeper appreciation for designing spaces that nurture independence, creativity, and holistic development. Experiences like these bridge theory with practice, inspiring future architects to create meaningful and human-centered environments.
