Triveni Academy CBSE EDUCATION The Triveni Academy is one of the largest residential schools in India. The three rivers are the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Saraswati.

Triveni Academy was founded on 15 June 1987 with over a thousand boys and girls from India and abroad. Thriveni Academy is now a co-educational and fully residential complex for children from Classes I to XII with 5,000 pupils and 800 staff members. It is located in the Vadakupattu village 25 km from Madras (Chennai) and spread across 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) of land. The campus of over 1,000 acres (

4.0 km2) covers more than 1,500,000 sq ft (139,000 m2), spread over 100 buildings, a number of wells, deep bore wells and two sub stations. There are:

3 swimming pools (2 large and 1 toddler)
roller skating rinks for boys and girls
thousand meters cycling track
400 metre track for athletics
prayer hall
open air theatre
workshop for carpentry, painting, clay modeling and sculpture
bakery
wet and dry grinding shop

The term Triveni refers to the meeting of three sacred rivers of the Hindu culture. Each school had its own principal and the classes were divided between the schools as standard 1-4 Ganga, 5-8 Yamuna and 9-12 Saraswathi. The school was administered by a team led by Mr. Shivan Nair and manager Sathish. Sports Facilities include;

It was renamed as Jayalakshmi Academy. This school is no longer functional, the whole school has been purchased by Hiranandani builders (one of the biggest real estate companies in India) who were recently in the limelight for having evaded provident fund remittance to the tune of 1.68 billion rupees. Their offices were raided in Mumbai by the sleuths of CBI.They are still in the process of taking over the school property since the matter is pending in court.
