Thoorigai is a non profitable community founded by the NSS Volunteers of CEG Anna University. Here old becomes new.

We thought that the apt name for this organization would be THOORIGAI which means a paint brush. We came out with this name because , it is a brush which yeilds a dazzling painting. We have launched a website where every orphanages are conjoined so that the raising funds can be easily transfered to their account. You may feel that your belongings are old but there are some peopl

e who are not blessed with such things. Therefore when you contribute your old belongings such as dresses to such people that would make them feel ecstatic. So as a first part we are taking an initiative to collect dresses. Secondly raising funds for the wayside people to provide them with one of the basic needs, bedsheet. Therefore we need your support to make this organization a powerful and a successful one.

A KIND REQUEST TO ALL :-

Here we would like to thank Rajkiran Rajkumar (https://www.facebook.com/rajkiran.rajkumar) from whom we got the info about BHUMI and LOOKUP which he shared in Facebook.

Friends in our day to day life we get to see various posts and messages in Facebook, whatsapp, twitter etc. Some we pay attention and some we don't. During any crisis we would get to see lots of posts. Some may ask for money, some may ask for volunteers, some may ask for things so and so. We actually want to help but due to some reasons we can't afford them. In those case the best thing you can do is spread the information. Just share it, so someone who can afford those needs may find it useful. Even though you don't directly notice the effect, you actually helped them. "Right Information at Right Time is Beneficial". So friends in future if you find some posts and you think that it may help someone, Just click the share button or Forward the message. In case if you know any person or organisation related, share to them too.

Hello everyone.This is NSS UNIT V and we are proud to announce that the first event of this year's THOORIGAI initiative is successfully complete.
As we mentioned earlier there was an overwhelming response for our cloth collection drive last year.The collected clothes were being distributed to orphanages in and around chennai in this meantime and we were still left with huge amount of clothes."EVERYTHING REQUIRES A RIGHT TIME AND A RIGHT PLACE " they say.
The staggering amount of left over clothes has now been moved to the most needy people of the chennai currently, the flood victims.But this time around, the quick distribution of the clothes and the reach of it to the intended people would not have been possible without the partnership with two organizations,namely Bhumi and Lookup.They provided both volunteer and distribution support and has made this possible in a very short time.A hearty thanks to both.
The event took place yesterday in which 52 big bags of clothes were distributed which were shared among 110 families who were affected by the latest chennai flood which shook the city.
A hearty thanks to all the volunteers of NSS UNIT V and also the volunteers of above two organizations who made this possible.

First Day of Dress Collection :-

We are so proud and happy of the immense response from the Hostel students of CEG. Today we have reached Girls Blocks and Few Junior Blocks. Each and every students Supported us moreover many of them volunteered to help us. Till10 PM we worked without feeling any tired. Tomorrow we will reach senior blocks and few Junior blocks by evening. Hoping for the same support again.
