Non technical event rules:

Association of Mechanical Engineering – Bharath University Mechanical Deapartment organizing a ‘Short Film Competition’

Entries are invited from the undergraduate and post graduate departments of Mass Communications Mechanical Engineering, Other Engineering Departments /Mass Media, Film/TV, Journalism, and Arts, Science and Commerce courses run by colleges, universities, deemed universities and independent institutes across Tamil Nadu.

This year we have added two new elements to the event. Along with the short films, we are also looking forward to receiving the based on your title of your ‘Short Film’
The awards for best actor,best cinematography, best music, best editing.
Eligibility

• Undergraduate or post graduate courses offering graduate and post graduate programmes in Mechanical Engineering, Other Engineering Departments , Mass Communication/Mass Media/Journalism/ Film/TV, Journalism, Arts, Science and Commerce courses , courses run by colleges, universities, deemed universities

• The Format of the film must be in HD 720 p or Full HD 1080p

•The video should be compulsory censored with disclaimers .

Rules

• The video cast crew must be list in the movie itself.

• Duration of the film Not longer than 20 minutes

• No Sexual content

• Too much violence content must be censored. If not it will be disqualified

• Registration Fee must be sent through the post or must be submitted to respective coordinators on or before 17th march 2017

• Poster of your short film must be attached with the courier or post or in person to respective coordinators
• Director and Crew which are selected to be screened must be present on 20th march 2017 in the venue

• Details of the cast and Crew and Short Synopsis of film also to be attached

• Proper Proof must be submitted ( College Id or Working ID)

Last date for submission of the short film

• 17th March 2017 in Mpeg 4 or Avi Format.
• Intimation By 18th March 2017

Terms and Conditions

• Will be held on March 20, 2017

• Special Judge will decide top 3 films

• Awards will be given to three films in order of ranking ( 1st, 2nd and 3rd )
• Special awards for Best Cinematography , Best Editing , Best Actor , Best Music
• Top 10 Films will be screened on 20th March 2017 and it will be intimated on 18.03.17

PHOTOGRAPHY:
(Common registration is must)
1.Participants should come up with individual cameras.
2.Subject will be said onspot.
3.Judges decision will be the final.

Gully cricket:
1.six in a team
2.under arm only
3.if the ball being hit out of the boundary line it will be declared as out
4.only 2 over per team
5.facing the ball give you 1 run.if the ball misses the bat it is declared as out
6.problem causing team will be disqualified.

TECHNICAL EVENTS RULES

Paper presentation:-

Topics:- Mechanical related and also somehow allied to mechanical

Description: This platform to expose your knowledge on your interested areas. Come, chill out the hearts of the people with your innovative presentation.

Event Format: The event will be held in two phases. All the papers sent for this event must be in the ‘.doc’ formats.

Phase 1: The participants are expected to submit their paper in the IEEE format (if not, Submit in the legal format) to the respective E-mail IDs of the different categories([email protected]).

The selected participants will be informed via e-mail.

Phase 2: *Three hard copies of the full paper are to be provided.

During the main event, the contestants (maximum: Two per Team) will get 8minutes to present their paper, at the end of which there will be a query session.
The presentation should be in the ‘.ppt’ format
Dates: The last date for submission is 16th March,2017.

WATER ROCKETRY

Description: Take your first big step to propel yourself into the world of aerodynamics!

Water rocket is a mechanical event that involves the fabrication of a rocket whose thrust for flight is obtained by the use of water that is expelled at a large air pressure. It is an example Newton’s third law of motion. The pre requisites for such an event would be a basic knowledge of fabrication, materials and physical calculations involving thrust, air, pressure,etc.

Winning criteria: Rocket that covers longer distance wins!

Rules:

Participants are required to bring a Single stage/Multi stage rocket along with launcher.
No chemical or aerated water will be added for launching.
The angle, amount of water, load will be suggested by participants.
Only one attempt is allowed.
Organizers’ decision is final.

CAD MODELING:


CAD MODELING is an event to test your drafting and modelling skills to an experimental level.

Preliminary test will be conducted filtered participants will be made for final round

Rules:

This is a solo event, single participant should participate.
Problem statement will be given at time of the event.
Design is to be completed within the time duration.
Time taken to complete and the number of featured added will be taken into account.
Decision of judges will be the final

Auto quiz and mechanical quiz:

Preliminary test will be conducted
Selected participants will attend next round
Questions will be projected as slides and participants will be asked to answer
If one fails to do so question will be swap to next team.

On spot modeling:

Participants will be asked to model the material provided on spot

Judges decision is final

March 14 is also known as the World Pi Day since 3,1 and 4 are the first three significant digits of pi.
