A Memorable Contribution to Loyola College for the M. Janardhanan Memorial Award

We are pleased to announce a generous contribution from the family of Late Sri. M. Janardhanan, father of Mr J. Balamurugan, General Secretary, LAA.

His wife, Dr. (Mrs) R. Anandam (Chief Consultant Neurologist, PRS Hospital), has donated an endowment fund of ₹3,00,000/- to Loyola College, Chennai: The "M. Janardhanan Memorial Award"

This fund will be maintained to accrue the annual interest and used to provide a cash prize of ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 to the Best Outgoing Student of B.Com.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Anandam, Mr. J. Balamurugan and the family for this noble gesture that honors the memory of late Sri. M. Janardhanan while supporting academic excellence in our student community.

With immense gratitude, we share that our proud alumni, Mr. Sal Pazhoor and Mr. Moin Pazhoor (B.Sc. Physics, 1983–1986), have extended remarkable support to Loyola by contributing ₹32,00,000/- for a classroom in Loyola Shyam Kothari Centenary Building and Fr. Kuriakose Scholarship Fund.

Rev.Dr. A. Louie Albert SJ along with Dr KS Antonysamy had a meeting with Thiruppur Mayor Dinesh Kumar, our proud alumnus of 1999 B. Com batch.

They made use of the opportunity to discuss further networking and strengthening chapter activities.

LAA is thankful to Mayor Dinesh Kumar for holding the meeting in his office despite his busy schedule.

Loyola Alumni Erode & Salem Chapters Meet

On November 22, 2025, members of the Salem and Erode chapters of Loyola Alumni Association gathered at Dwayfarer Inn to reconnect and share their experiences. The meet focused on:
- Connecting with fellow alumni
- Strengthening bonds
- Exchanging resources
- Sharing foundational experiences with the younger generation

The discussion was facilitated by Rev. Dr. A. Louie Albert SJ, Director, Dr. M. Karthikeyan, Convenor, National Chapters, and Dr. K.S. Antonysamy, Alumni Relationship Manager.

For the first time in the history of Loyola, a Centenary Friendship Tree was planted jointly by Loyola College and University of Dallas on 27th September 2025 within the university campus.

This symbolic tree was planted to commemorate the Centenary year of Loyola College Chennai, and to honour the academic partnership between LCC and UD. May it stand as a living legacy and towards a future of collaboration, friendship, and hope.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the University of Dallas for this meaningful gesture, and to the Jesuit Fathers who graced the program in Dallas, TX, USA.

Loyola Alumni Association and Loyola College, Chennai are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the prestigious Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Florida, USA, on 29th September 2025. This MoU establishes a student and faculty exchange program, opening new avenues for academic collaboration and global exposure.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Rev. Fr. Rector, Rev. Fr. Principal, Rev. Fr. Alumni Director, Secretary – LAA, International Convenor – LAA, Mr. Adam Hanser, President, Deans and other representatives of FAU.

We extend our sincere Mr. Sal and Mr. Moin Pazhoor, distinguished alumni of Loyola College of LAA USA Chapter, for their efforts in coordinating and making this happen for Loyola College a reality. The students of both the colleges will immensely benefit from this MOU.

Loyola Alumni Association and Loyola College, Chennai, proudly announce the signing of an MoU with Florida International University (FIU), Miami, USA—a premier institution with over 47,000 students on its campus.

This MoU paves the way for student and faculty exchange programs, fostering global academic collaboration and enriching the Loyola learning experience.

The MoU was signed by Rev. Fr. Principal @ on behalf of Loyola College and Ms. Jeanette Núñez, President of FIU. Joining the ceremony were Rev. Fr. Alumni Director (Louie Albert SJ), Alumni General Secretary , and Convener of LAA International Chapters (Masiullah Mohammed).

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Sal & Mr. Moin Pazhoor for their instrumental role in establishing this valuable connection.

📢 Post Event Update: Loyola Alumni Malaysia Chapter – Family Day 2025

📅 Date: 20th September 2025
📍 Venue: Royal Lake Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The long-awaited Family Day of the Loyola Alumni Malaysia Chapter began on a high note with the uplifting Loyola Anthem, setting the tone for a day of connection, nostalgia, and Loyola pride.

Around 40 alumni and family members gathered at the elegant Royal Lake Club, celebrating not just a reunion but the enduring spirit of Loyola.

🔹 Dato’ Vaseehar Hassan, President of the Malaysia Chapter, addressed the gathering with reflections from his participation in the Loyola Centenary Year celebrations. The Centenary Song was played—so warmly received that it was requested and replayed several times.

🔹 Mr. Antony Raja, Deputy President, shared valuable insights into the chapter’s progress and outlined the vision and plans for future events.

🔹 Mr. S.K. Samy, a respected alumnus and a legend in the Great Eastern Insurance industry, delivered a vibrant and inspiring speech that resonated deeply, bringing back cherished memories of college days while reaffirming the Loyola values that continue to unite us.

💬 Adding a lively touch, the ladies formed a new WhatsApp group titled “Loyola Alumni Wifeees”, showcasing their camaraderie and active involvement in building the Loyola family network.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families and children participated enthusiastically in various indoor activities, a heartwarming reminder that the Loyola spirit lives on across generations, fostering belonging and identity.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to making this day truly special. We look forward to many more gatherings that will continue to strengthen the Loyola bond!
