Our vision is to build this college into a strong temple of learning on par with universities of excellence in learning and research and to serve as one of the best colleges in the world and also to serve the humanity for all times to come. The foundation is a public trust with the object of providing educational facility and opportunity for all the deprived section of the community in general and
with a special thrust for women’s education particularly in the rural area, that too in the field of science and management. In furtherance of the above objective, the foundation obtained the permission of Government of Tamilnadu in Government order no. T.N.G.O.Ms.371 dt 26.3.1991, to establish a college for women at Kelambakkam, located in the Southern part of Madras Metropolis. The college established in 1991, is affiliated to the University of Madras in their communication No---- dt--- and started functioning from 16.6.1991. The Inaugural ceremony was solemnized by eminent personalities like Supreme Court Judges, Ministers and Vice Chancellor. The function was attended by Hon’ble Justice.S.Natarajan, Justice K.Venkatasamy, Dr.KM.Marimuthu Vice-chancellor of Coimbatore,Bharathiar University, Dr.Navalar Nedunchezhian, Minister for Finance, Mr.C.Aranganayagam Minister for Education and Mr.V.Karthikeyan, Former chief secretary of Tamilnadu. The college started in 1991, over a period of 18 academic years has grown to a strength of around 1400 students in 2008 from the humble number of 27 students in 1991. The college was started with five Under Graduate courses in the field of Science, Management and Commerce. This growth speaks volumes about the sincere efforts by the management, faculty and the students themselves to improve the content, Quality and thereby the strength of the college. In these 18 years,the college has become one of the premier institutions and a major player in the Indian Women’s education.
