At NDF Community College, our students are trained in essential therapeutic procedures that bring relief to patients. Today's session focused on Steam Inhalation—a simple yet effective technique used to ease respiratory congestion and support breathing comfort.

Steam Inhalation delivers warm, moist air to the airways, helping to loosen mucus, soothe irritated passages, and relieve symptoms of colds, sinusitis, and bronchitis. Students learned how to prepare the equipment, maintain the correct water temperature, and position the patient safely to prevent burns or scalds.

The procedure was demonstrated and taught by our experienced College Tutor, Ana. Under her guidance, students practised proper patient positioning, draping for privacy, and monitoring throughout the session. Tutor Ana emphasised safety, infection control, and clear communication to keep patients calm and comfortable.

At NDF Community College, our students are mastering advanced injection techniques. Today's session focused on Intra Dermal injections under the AVDGD framework—a core skill in vaccination, allergy testing, and diagnostic procedures.

An Intra Dermal injection delivers medication into the top layer of the skin, just below the epidermis. It is commonly used for BCG vaccines, tuberculin (Mantel) tests, and allergy sensitivity testing. Students learned the correct angle, needle size, and the characteristic "wheal" or bleb that confirms proper placement.

The session followed the AVDGD approach—Assess, Verify, Demonstrate, Guide, and Document. Students practised patient assessment, site selection, aseptic technique, and safe disposal of sharps. Tutor Ana emphasised precision, patient comfort, and strict infection control throughout every step.

The Psychology of Colour explores how hues influence emotion—warm colours like red evoke energy, while cool colours like blue promote calm and trust. A Proud Milestone for NDF Community College! 🎓✨

On September 20, 2026, NDF Community College celebrated its First Graduation Day, marking a proud and memorable milestone for our graduating students.

The celebration brought together students, faculty, guests, and well-wishers to honour the dedication, hard work, and achievements of our graduates.

We were privileged to welcome Dr. R. S. Kiruthikadevi, MD – Babu’s Maternity Hospital, Tambaram, Chennai, Chairman – Women Doctors Wing, Indian Medical Association – Tamil Nadu State Branch, as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by an inspiring address to the students. Her words encouraged our graduates to move forward with knowledge, confidence, compassion, and commitment as they begin the next chapter of their journey.

At NDF Community College, our students are trained in both essential nursing procedures and core anatomy. Today's session combined the Sitz Bath procedure with the Digestive System, helping students understand patient comfort alongside gastrointestinal health.

A Sitz Bath is a warm, shallow bath that soothes the perineal area. It is used after childbirth, surgery, or for hemorrhoids and fissures. Students learned correct water temperature, safe patient positioning, privacy, and monitoring for discomfort. The Digestive System session covered the mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas—vital knowledge for patient recovery.

At NDF Community College, our Medical Laboratory Technology students are mastering the fundamental techniques of blood analysis. Today, our practical session focused on Smear Taking for MSMP (Malaria Slide Microscopy Preparation), Bleeding Time, and Clotting Time. These are core diagnostic skills every lab technician must perfect before entering the clinical field.

For MSMP, students learned how to collect a finger-prick blood sample and prepare a proper thick and thin smear on a clean glass slide. The thick smear helps detect malaria parasites, while the thin smear allows for species identification. Our students practiced achieving the correct smear thickness and proper labeling to ensure accurate laboratory results.

The session also covered Bleeding Time and Clotting Time—two vital tests that assess a patient's hemostatic function. Bleeding Time measures how quickly small blood vessels constrict to stop bleeding, while Clotting Time measures how long it takes for blood to form a clot. These tests are crucial for pre-surgical screening and detecting bleeding disorders.

The techniques were demonstrated and taught by our experienced College Tutor, Ana. At NDF Community College, our healthcare students are trained to understand, prevent, and manage communicable diseases. Today, we shine a spotlight on Tuberculosis (TB), a highly infectious disease that primarily affects the lungs. Understanding how TB spreads is the first step in protecting our communities.

TB is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis and spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Key symptoms include a persistent cough lasting over two weeks, chest pain, fever, night sweats, and unexplained weight loss. Early detection through sputum tests and chest X-rays is critical for effective treatment.

Our Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology and Allied Health students learn the exact protocols for identifying TB pathogens in the lab. Under the guidance of our experienced tutors like Tutor Ana, students practice safe sample collection and microscopic examination techniques. This hands-on training ensures they are fully prepared to support doctors in diagnosing and treating TB accurately.

Prevention is just as important as diagnosis. Our curriculum emphasizes standard infection control practices, including proper use of N95 masks, hand hygiene, and ensuring good ventilation in clinical settings. Maternal & Child Health: Essential Newborn Care Training

Maternal and Child Health (MCH) focuses on the well-being of mothers, infants, and children. A vital part of this is learning safe newborn bathing techniques. This practice maintains hygiene, prevents infection, and supports healthy development.

The session begins with a hands-on demonstration using a baby doll. The technique involves supporting the infant's head and neck securely while gently washing the body in warm water. This builds confidence for safe, real-world care.

Students then practice maternal comfort and recovery, holding and comforting the baby doll while in a hospital bed. They also practice swaddling and holding the baby securely. This entire session was demonstrated and taught by College Tutor Ana at NDF Community College.
