The Department of Advanced Computing and Analytics, School of Computing Sciences, VISTAS organized a Research Colloquium on 30th April 2026 through Google Meet. The session was presented by Ms. V. Nikitha, Ph.D. (Full-Time) Research Scholar, on the topic “Explainable AI in Agriculture: Interpreting Deep Learning Models for Crop Decision Support.”

The presentation highlighted the importance of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) in agriculture and how Deep Learning models can support crop-related decision-making processes. The speaker explained the role of interpretable AI techniques in improving transparency, reliability, and understanding of AI-driven agricultural systems, helping farmers and researchers make informed decisions for better crop management and sustainable farming practices.

Faculty members, research scholars, and students actively participated in the session and gained valuable insights into the emerging applications of Explainable AI and Deep Learning in smart agriculture and precision farming.

The session began with a welcome address by Dr. V. Poornima, Associate Professor & Research Coordinator. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. R. Parameswari, Head & Professor, Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, and coordinated by Dr. V. Poornima.
The resource person, Mr. Mashiya Afroze F (UP22P9610049), Part-Time Research Scholar at VISTAS, delivered a session on “An Optimized Deep Learning and Swarm Intelligence Framework for Enhanced IoT Forensics.” The talk covered key challenges in IoT forensics and the application of deep learning and swarm intelligence techniques to improve investigation efficiency.
The session was interactive and beneficial for PG students and research scholars. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Research Coordinator.

Industrial Visit in BEO Software Private Limited and IROID Technologies at Ernakulam, Kochi, Kerala.

On 24th & 25th March 2026, the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of VISTAS organized an industrial visit to Kerala BEO Software Private Limited and IROID Technologies in Ernakulam, Cochin. A total number of students 106 and 7 faculty members participated in the program. The visit gave students practical exposure to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure. Experts explained AI-driven automation, secure network architectures, and data protection techniques. They also demonstrated machine learning models and shared insights on data analytics and emerging technologies. The session helped students understand industry best practices and the importance of advanced technologies in shaping the IT sector.

1 30 pm to 3 pm . The Session was organized on the topic “Inside Software Projects: Careers without Writing Code (SDG 9) ".

The session was delivered by Mr. Radhakrishnan Mahalingam, an Insurance Domain Consultant and Founder of Insurance Domain Training Center, India. He shared valuable insights into career opportunities in the software industry that extend beyond traditional coding roles, emphasizing real-world industry practices and domain-based expertise.
The session provided students with a broader perspective on career paths in the IT sector, highlighting the importance of domain knowledge, analytical thinking, and industry readiness.
