AMS College of Engineering Conducts 24-Hour AMS-HACKATHON 2026

Chennai, August 23, 2026: AMS College of Engineering successfully conducted the 24-Hour AMS-HACKATHON 2026 on 22 and 23 August 2026 at the college campus.

The hackathon was inaugurated by Mr. H. Mohamed Salegh, Secretary & Correspondent, on 22 August. Nearly 87 teams comprising 459 students participated. In the second round, 48 teams were shortlisted , followed by 4 teams in the final round.

The Valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 23 August. Mr. Victor Sundaraj, Associate Vice President, Infosys Ltd., Bengaluru, was the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. He distributed shields, certificates and cash prizes to the winners.

The prizes included ₹10,000 for First Prize, ₹7,500 for Second Prize, ₹5,000 for Third Prize and ₹3,000 for Fourth Prize, along with special prizes.

The programme was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Shakila and Asst. Prof. Mohammad Myddeen. The hackathon successfully promoted innovation, teamwork, problem-solving and technological skills among students.

AMS Group Celebrates 80th Independence Day

Chennai, 15 August 2026: The AMS Group of Educational Institutions celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic spirit on the college campus on 15 August 2026 at 9.00 a.m. The National Flag was hoisted by Secretary & Correspondent H. Mohamed Salegh, who also distributed prizes to winning students and staff.

In his Independence Day address, H. Mohamed Salegh emphasised the importance of national integration, brotherhood and peaceful living as responsible neighbours and citizens. He urged students to uphold unity, harmony and the values of our nation.

The celebration was attended by Prof. Dr. K.G. Parthiban, Principal, AMS College of Engineering; Prof. Ar. A.J. Paul, Principal, AMS Academy of Architecture; Prof. Kadher Ahamed, Principal, AMS Polytechnic College; Prof. Ar. Kavitha, Director, AMS Academy of Architecture; Vice Principal Prof. A.S. Salma Banu; Physical Directors Mr. Nehru and Ms. Hemalatha; Finance Officer Abdul Kader; Heads of Departments, faculty members and students.

The NCC Parade and demonstration, organised under the leadership of NCC Coordinator Hari Prasanth P, added pride and grandeur to the celebrations. Students and staff actively participated, making the Independence Day celebration a memorable and inspiring occasion.
