Consortium of Chemical Technologists, Anna University in association with Quest Explore Discover (QED), an organization pioneering in developing exhibit-centric science, is organizing 'Chemiscope '15–The Junkchemist ' a one of-a-kind science exhibition for school students on 14th February, 2015.
For the convenience of the students and to ensure our campaign reaches to all ages, we have divided the events into the following categories:
LEVEL 1: CHEMTOTS, GRADE 6-8
WEALTH FROM WASTE (MODEL) -Using only junk material, construct a model. You can use as many waste items. We are looking for the most innovative product with effective application.
Members per team: 3 students
POSTER PRESENTATION -Make a poster related to the theme “Waste Management” to create awareness. Members per team: 2 students
LEVEL 2: CHEMTEENS, GRADES 9 AND 11 (Interested students from 10th and 12th may also participate)
WASTE TREATMENT (MODEL) For the treatment/recycle/effective use of any of the following: Waste Water, Solid Refuse, Kitchen Waste, Paper, etc. Models may run on electricity. Members per team: 3 students
POSTER PRESENTATION Make a poster related to the theme “Waste Management” to create awareness. Members per team: 2 students
Apart from the technical part, we also have the following events for the creative ones! It will not have age bars, and students will be judged upon imaginative application of wastes:
1.JUNK ART (Teams may consist of any number of students)
Make any form of art out of recycled waste. For eg: sculptures, collages, posters, paintings, etc.
2.BIN BEATS (Teams may consist of any number of students)
Make music out of waste items. Performance is judged based on music made, and not the singing. Maximum 3 minutes.
3. A WALK WITH WASTE (Team of maximum 10 students, 3 minutes maximum)
Use waste materials to decorate your clothes and show off your ramp skills! You may also carry placards with catchy quotes related to the theme. Choose your own theme music. Any kind of obscenity will lead to immediate disqualification.
