Lol, who are we kidding...?! In Chennai winter is never coming but the E-Cell Of MIT does bring you something that’ll send a chill down your spine!

Govt. Facilities for starting up a bussiness:
Scheme/Facility
Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program (PMEGP)
It is Administered by the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises.
It is one of the largest Credit linked Subsidy Schemes.
It provides finance towards the set-up costs of entrepreneurial
ventures in the manufacturing and service sectors
National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)
NRLM of the Ministry of Rural Development runs programs to support self financing industries to enhance the availability of capital for productive purposes in rural areas. Under this a cadre of Micro Enterprise Consultants are also being trained to support rural entrepreneurs.

District Level Incubation and Accelerator Program
This program is being taken up for incubation of new Ideas and
providing necessary support for aiding entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneur friendly legal bankruptcy framework will also
be developed for SMEs to enable easy exit.
Trade Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development (TREAD)
This program has been developed specifically to elevate problems
faced by illiterate and semi literate women of rural India
during the 9th Plan. The scheme envisages economic empowerment of women
through trade related training and information and counselling and extension activities related to trade,services,products etc..
Small Industries Development Organisation (SIDO)
It is an apex body for promotion and development for small scale
industries and in the country. It has devised a comprehensive range
of schemes for providing credit facilities and technology support
services and marketing assisstance etc.
Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme for Technology Upgradation
This is a performance and credit rating scheme for small industries
so as to enable the small enterprises to ascertain their weaknesses and of their existing operation and take corrective measures accordingly.
Credit Guarantee Scheme
It is a scheme set up byt the Ministry of Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises keeping in mind the high finance requirements at the initial stage of setting up and start-up. Money is lent as credit.
Entrepreneurship support by the Govt Of Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu is known as the “Detroit of India” as it hosts the
manufacturing centers of the big international automobile
companies like Ford and Hyundai. Given the automotive hub, there
has been a tremendous growth in the ancillary and part supplier
ecosystem that work closely with these OEMs. The entrepreneurial
activities of the state are concentrated mostly in Chennai because
of the presence of many big business parks and IITM incubation
cell and also because it offers a strong local networking environment
for the budding entrepreneurs of the state. The Center for
Entrepreneurship Development CED has established an IT
Incubation Center where 80 IT entrepreneurs can be supported at a
time. The government has also committed that the subsidy given
to entrepreneurs on machines and equipments is being hiked from
15 to 25 per cent up to a ceiling of INR 30 lakh. The state has also
doubled the funding given for New Entrepreneur Cum Enterprise
Development (NEED) to INR 100 crore which will be utilised for
capital subsidy of 25 per cent and training support.
Entrepreneurship support by the Govt Of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
The status of entrepreneurship in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is
in its developmental stage. Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of
Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP) organises many training programs through
their networks to empower women to earn a sustainable living.
ALEAP has also supported the Center for Entrepreneurship
Development CED which runs entrepreneurship training programs.
Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam are the technology and business
hubs of the state. The state government is also in talks with the
Kerala government to share lessons and set up something similar
to the Startup Village which has seen tremendous traction over
the years.A few months back ISB Hyderabad’s incubation centre
Wadhwani Center for Entrepreneurship Development launched
an open accelerator named Dlabs for the budding entrepreneurs
of the country.
