The B.Sc. Psychology Programme hosted an insightful Policy-Making Competition on 19 August 2026.
The event commenced with an address by Dr. Kavitha, Assistant Professor, M.A. Public Policy, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, who emphasized the critical role of policy-making in driving social change. To provide deeper context, the session also featured a screening of the documentary Akam Puram, highlighting the functioning of a mental health facility in Kerala.
Following this, participants presented their proposed policies and engaged in a rigorous Q&A with the judge. The winners in each category were:

🥈 R. Yashmitaa, Aarti P Jain, and Harsha Ramakrishnan — Policy for Incarcerated Individuals
🌟 Zenia N Parpia, Suman P, and Priyadharshini R — Audience’s Choice (Policy for Transgender Youth)
The competition not only showcased the students’ analytical and problem-solving skills but also underscored their commitment to addressing pressing social issues through innovative policy frameworks.
