This is a place inhabited by a group of people who ventured to respond to the call of the times. These people could set on a new culture in the highlands of Malabar. The colonization of the sons of farmers to this virgin land began since 1944 onwards. Along with toiling in their land, they spared time to make arrangements for the education of their children. The unfailing perseverance of the Thoma
puram residents and Mgr. Jerome D’souza, the symbol of sacrifice and service bore fruit as St. School, with 30 students, was inaugurated on 20th June, 1949, Sri. Narayanan Nair served their term of office as the first manager and the first headmaster, respectively. In 1952 Sri. Joseph handed over the management of the school to Mgr. Jerome D’souza. Narayanan Nair resigned his post in June 1953 and Sri. Thomas was appointed as the headmaster. In 1953, this school was upgraded to higher elementary school. Those were tough times for want of secondary education. The recurrent petitions of the architect of Thomapuram late Rev. Joseph Kollamparambil and the concerns of the state minister late Sri. T Chacko were accomplished when Thomapuram High School was established of 4.7.1960. Late Mr. Joseph was the first headmaster. In 1961 he transferred to Devagiri
St. Savio high school and late V. Mathai took charge of the office as headmaster. He completed a commendable service for a long span of 23 years. This school celebrated the Silver Jubilee on 26, 27, 28 of April 1985. The Golden Jubilee of this school is celebrated in the year of 2009-10. Higher education of students after their high school education was an unrealizable dream. But as a result of the struggle of the prudent and efficient vicar Rev. George Narippara and the hard working and sacrificing local people, this school was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School. Plus Two batches in Science and Humanities were started in August 1998 and Commerce batch was started in August 2000.
