AIMSR, Chittoor continues to promote a culture of academic excellence and clinical learning through its regular Clinical Meetings.

On 15th April 2026, an engaging Clinical Meeting was conducted featuring insightful presentations from both the Department of Community Medicine and the Department of General Medicine.

The session highlighted:
•Awareness of symptoms, risk factors, and screening of breast cancer in women
•A rare presentation of hyperemesis gravidarum with central nervous system manifestations

The discussions were enriched by the valuable guidance of senior faculty, with active participation from postgraduates, interns, and faculty members.

AIMSR, Chittoor successfully conducted Down Syndrome Awareness Day 2026 & Clinical Cytogenetics Workshop on 26th March 2026 at AIMSR, Chittoor.

The event brought together medical professionals, faculty, and students to raise awareness about Down Syndrome (Trisomy 21), the most common chromosomal condition affecting 1 in 700 births worldwide. The program emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, family support, inclusion, and interdisciplinary care.

We were honored to have Prof. Dr. Vinod Bhat, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, The Apollo University, as the Chief Guest.
Our invited speaker Dr. Subhadra Devi Velichety delivered an insightful talk on Down Syndrome and officially released the Parent Guide, a valuable resource for families and caregivers.
The Clinical Cytogenetics Workshop was effectively conducted by Dr. M. Jeevan Kumar, focusing on bridging diagnostics and patient care.

We sincerely thank all the speakers, organizers, faculty members, and students for making this event meaningful and impactful. Together, let us continue to spread awareness and work towards a more inclusive society.

GKT Training Conducted Under EASE Mental Health Program at AIMSR, Chittoor

As part of the EASE Program the GKT online training session was successfully conducted on 25-03-2026 in Lecture Hall 1 for 1st MBBS students at AIMSR, Chittoor.
The session focused on guiding students through the GKT related mental health awareness, emotional well-being, stress management, and student support systems.

The training was conducted by Mr. Nelson Vinod Moses, who guided and assisted the students throughout the session in completing the GKT effectively.

The program was facilitated by Dr. Dinesh, HOD Psychiatry; Dr. Jaya Priya, Associate Professor, Psychiatry; Dr. C. Sravana Deepthi, Deputy Director of Student Affairs; and Dr. Savitha S, Assistant Professor, Anatomy, along with the institutional leadership, whose support and encouragement made this initiative meaningful and impactful for the students.

The EASE program aims to create awareness about mental health, provide early support to students, and promote a healthy learning environment through structured training, assessment, and guidance programs.

A Remarkable Life Saved – A Testament to Teamwork & Excellence

A rare and highly complex brain surgery has given a new lease of life to a premature infant at DHH, AIMSR, Chittoor.

The infant, born prematurely and battling severe complications including hydrocephalus, was successfully treated through a delicate neurosurgical intervention. Despite the challenges of low birth weight and fragile condition, the multidisciplinary team rose to the occasion with exceptional skill and dedication.

A heartfelt farewell to a remarkable mentor and leader.

The leadership of AIMSR, Chittoor came together on 7th March 2026 to celebrate the retirement of Dr. Kailasanatha Reddy, Professor & Head, Department of Microbiology.

Known for his sincerity, punctuality, and unwavering discipline, sir has been a pillar of strength for the department and the institution. A man of few words, yet always impactful, his guidance, clarity of thought, and quiet leadership have left a lasting imprint on generations of students and colleagues.

He also served as the former Coordinator of the Medical Education Unit (MEU) at AIMSR, where he played a key role in strengthening academic practices and faculty development initiatives at the institute.

The occasion was graced by our Dean, Vice Chancellor of TAU, Unit Head, Registrar, along with the Heads of Departments of AIMSR, Chittoor and MEU members, who gathered to express their appreciation and gratitude for his years of dedicated service.

As he embarks on a new chapter beyond academia, we thank him for his commitment, wisdom, and exemplary professionalism that will continue to inspire the younger generation.

The Medical Education Unit (MEU) successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme on 27th February 2026 at the Auditorium, Dr. PCRKC Block, AKC Campus.

The session, titled “AI Tools in Health Professions Education”, was facilitated by Dr. Sravana Deepthi, Associate Professor, Community Medicine, AIMSR Chittoor, who delivered an insightful and practical overview of how Artificial Intelligence can be effectively integrated into medical teaching, assessment, research, and academic productivity.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty across departments. The interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and hands-on insights empowered participants to explore AI-driven innovations in curriculum design, content creation, student engagement, and scholarly work.
