The ASTRA Club, in association with the Department of Physics, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore Campus, organized a One Day Workshop on S.A.M.P.L.E (Stratospheric Altitude Microbiology Probe for Life Existence) on September 16, 2025.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Margarita Safonova, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, and focused on collecting stratospheric samples using high-altitude balloons along with a hands-on comet data analysis session.
This initiative provided students and research scholars with valuable insights into stratospheric research, microbiology, and astrophysics, enhancing their academic and research exposure.

We are delighted to share glimpses from the One-Day Workshop on Micro Raman Spectroscopy organized by the Department of Physics, Amrita School of Physical Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.

The workshop featured insightful sessions by Dr. P. Tamilarasan (CSIR–Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi), who shared his expertise on advanced Raman techniques and their wide-ranging applications. Participants also had the opportunity to gain hands-on training and enhance their understanding of Micro Raman Spectroscopy.
This interactive learning experience was truly enriching and opened avenues for collaboration, innovation, and scientific exploration.
