On 14th May 2026, PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore hosted a warm Pre-Departure Meet and Dinner for the 2024–2026 cohort students of the International Credit Transfer Program who are progressing to universities in the USA, UK, and Australia. The evening was graciously hosted by Dr. Kanchana Jeganathan.

The event was filled with happiness, excitement, and memorable interactions as students, tutors, and faculty advisors shared their experiences, cherished memories, and heartfelt advice for the students’ future journey abroad. The students enthusiastically reflected on their time at PSG IAS and enjoyed the evening together before embarking on their global academic journey.

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, is organizing a one-week physical hands-on workshop on Semiconductor Technology & Thin Film Device Fabrication from 29 June to 03 July 2026.

This intensive training program is designed to provide participants with a strong foundation in semiconductor science, modern fabrication processes, and device engineering through expert lectures and laboratory sessions.

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, a premier research institute with over 20 years of excellence in interdisciplinary research and innovation, successfully organized the Two-Day Workshop on 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 & 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) on 7 & 8 May 2026 at Coimbatore with the support of 𝗣𝗦𝗚 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Around 95 participants, including faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students from various institutions, enthusiastically participated in the workshop.

Dr. Abinash Das from PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, has recently published a research article in 𝗔𝗖𝗦- 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 entitled:

In this work, a ZnO/CuO heterojunction was successfully developed through Cu doping in the ZnO matrix. The doped samples demonstrated enhanced optical properties and reduced charge carrier recombination, as confirmed through various characterization techniques. Density Functional Theory (DFT) analysis further revealed the modified electronic properties of the materials.

The optimized sample exhibited excellent photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical performance, highlighting its potential for efficient solar-driven water-splitting applications.

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, organized a warm and memorable Pre-Departure Meet & Dinner for the 2023 cohort of the International Credit Transfer Program students on 30th April 2026.

The evening was hosted by our Director, Dr. Kanchana Jeganathan, as a gesture of goodwill and encouragement towards the students as they prepare for their global academic journey. She reflected on their achievements over the past three years, offered valuable guidance for their transition to international universities, and conveyed her best wishes for their future endeavors.

The session also provided an opportunity for students to share their experiences and excitement about joining global partner institutions. It was heartening to witness their enthusiasm and aspirations. Tutors and faculty advisors fondly shared their memories with the cohort and extended their wishes for a successful new beginning.

✨ 𝗣𝗦𝗚 𝗜𝗔𝗦 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗕𝗛𝗨 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 🎓

PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore (PSGIAS), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, to foster collaborative research in Nano Technology, Clean Energy, and Computational Chemistry.

The agreement was received by Dr. Biji Pullithadathil, PSGIAS, from Prof. Amit Patra, Director, IIT BHU.

This collaboration strengthens PSG’s research ecosystem and creates new avenues for faculty, students, and alumni to engage in high-impact projects with one of India’s leading technical institutions.

We are pleased to share that Ms. Akshaya Devi Govindaraj has successfully completed the 3-month internship programme in Thin Film Device Fabrication (CIP-TFDF) at PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore.

During the internship, she gained hands-on experience in thin film processing and device fabrication, strengthening both her technical and research skills.

We are also happy to announce that she has secured an opportunity to work as a Trainee Engineer in the Process Department at Rakon Industries, Bangalore.
