Our campus celebrated Pongal with great joy and excitement, bringing everyone together to follow our traditions. The celebration started with worship, where we thanked God and nature. After that, students took part in traditional Pongal games with a lot of interest and enthusiasm. One of the most special moments of the day was when students came together to prepare Pongal. This made the celebration meaningful, joyful, and memorable for everyone.

Godrej Conscious Design Experience | Design Yatra, Mumbai As part of their Design Yatra in Mumbai, our design students attended the Godrej Conscious Design experience, an initiative focused on sustainability, responsible innovation, and future-ready design thinking. The visit offered valuable exposure to conscious design practices, environmentally responsible solutions, and the role of designers in creating meaningful social and ecological impact. From learning the craft to lighting it up ✨
As part of our Design Yatra, we visited Ray Design, Pune and took part in a hands-on cane workshop to create an aesthetic lamp. We started by understanding the material, its behavior, and the process. Step by step, with expert guidance, we shaped the cane, assembled the form, and finally lit it up to see the beautiful outcome 💡

A truly insightful experience that blended design, craft, and creativity and left us with both knowledge and a glowing memory.

Day 1 of our Design Yatra took our students to IndiDesign, Pune, a multidisciplinary design studio known for its work in branding, spatial design, visual communication and experiential design. The visit gave students an inside look at how design thinking, research led processes and collaboration shape impactful real-world projects.

From understanding professional workflows to seeing how concepts evolve into large-scale design solutions, the experience offered valuable industry exposure beyond the classroom. An inspiring start to the journey, reinforcing the importance of purpose driven design and creative problem solving.

Exploring how materials and light work together through hands on making! Students of Manchester International School participated in an immersive workshop conducted by the Industrial Design Department at Sasi Creative Institute of Design, where they designed and created their own lighting prototypes, from floor lamps and pendant lamps to small ambient light forms.
Through this activity, students discovered how different materials behave with illumination, how shadows and reflections change a space, and why material selection is key in product and industrial design. They experimented with structure, texture, translucency, and form to understand how light can transform everyday objects into meaningful design solutions.
Workshops like these nurture problem solving, creativity, and design thinking, introducing young learners to the world of industrial design, product design, and functional aesthetics. Proud to collaborate with Manchester International School to inspire future designers and makers.
