"As part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' initiative, the CIET NSS team conducted a campus clean-up drive on 28.09.2024. The volunteers collected and segregated single-use plastic waste, promoting eco-friendly practices and responsible waste management. NSS day and Swachhata Hi Seva 2024
Our CIET NSS team celebrated the NSS Day on 24.09.2024. The NSS Day event began with the "Tamil Thai Valthu" song, which is a tribute to Tamil language and culture. After that, Prof. Ravi, NSS Program Officer, welcomed everyone with his speech, setting the tone for the event. Then, Principal Manikanda Subramanian gave a special speech, sharing some important thoughts and encouraging words.

Next, NSS volunteer Sankari introduced the chief guest, R. Manikandan, who is the founder of Kovai Kulangal Pathukapu Amaipu , an organization dedicated to the preservation of lakes in Coimbatore. He then gave an inspiring speech, talking about his experiences and the importance of protecting the environment.

The event ended with a vote of thanks by NSS volunteer Lino Fabio, who expressed gratitude to all the speakers, guests, and everyone involved in making the event a success.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Cyber Security hosted a webinar on September 21, 2024, titled 'Getting Started with Data Science for a Futuristic Career.' Mr. Rajasekar, Technical Leader and Operations Head at Nschool Academy, delivered an enlightening session, introducing participants to foundational Data Science and Machine Learning concepts.

His comprehensive coverage of supervised and unsupervised learning, coupled with clear explanations of Data Science's futuristic applications in Machine Learning and Data Visualization, captivated the audience. Interactive slides and examples further facilitated active engagement and deeper understanding among students.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Rajasekar for sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation of data science professionals.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) in association with the Alumni Cell organized an insightful interactive session on 19.09.2024 with our esteemed alumnus Mr.Arunkumar Govindharaj, Smart DV Technologies of 2009 batch. The session provided valuable information to the students, where he shared his experiences and gave an in-depth overview of the core company's hiring process. His guidance and insights were highly appreciated by the attendees, as it gave them a clearer understanding of industry expectations and recruitment strategies. "Evolution of Welding Technology Towards Industry 5.0" at JKK Munirajah College of Technology, Erode

The seminar aimed to explore the advancements in welding technologies and their integration into the framework of Industry 5.0, characterized by a harmonious coexistence of humans and intelligent machines. He delivered insightful presentations and engaged in discussions with the attendees. He outlined the key principles of Industry 5.0, emphasizing the shift from automation to collaboration between humans and machines. He discussed the role of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and robotics, in enhancing productivity and ensuring quality.

The seminar covered the evolution from traditional welding methods to modern techniques such as laser welding, arc welding, and robotic welding. The concept of "smart welding" was introduced, showcasing how interconnected devices can optimize performance and reduce downtime. The seminar concluded with a look at future trends in welding technology, including the potential of Digital Twins for training and the use of advanced materials in welding applications.

On 15th September 2024, the Department of Information Technology organized an online workshop titled "From Blocks to Wallets: A Practical Guide to Blockchain" for second - and third-year students. The session commenced with a welcome address by Mohana priya , Assistant Professor , Department of IT, and was led by Ms. Priya, Assistant Professor from BIT.

This hands-on workshop provided an introduction to blockchain fundamentals, covering key topics such as block creation, consensus mechanisms (PoW, PoS), and smart contracts. Participants gained practical experience in setting up blockchain environments, managing cryptographic wallets, and exploring decentralized applications (DApps). By the end of the session, attendees were equipped to develop and interact with blockchain networks, making the workshop especially valuable for aspiring developers, tech enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs interested in leveraging blockchain technology in real-world applications.

Second year Mechanical Engineering students visited Shanthi Gears Ltd., Muthugounden Pudur, Coimbatore, for an industrial visit on 11th September 2024. The students gained insights into the gear manufacturing processes, transmission systems and advanced machinery used in industrial applications. It was an enriching experience that bridged classroom knowledge with real-world applications.

We are happy to share that the Department of Mechatronics Engineering organized a seminar titled " Significance and value of women" on 28th August 2024. This event was facilitated by Dr.N.Mala, Principal, Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts and Science, Thondamuthur, Coimbatore-641109.

Dr. N. Mala started the seminar with a powerful address, emphasizing the irreplaceable contributions of women as caregivers, educators, and change makers. She highlighted how women's roles have evolved but remain deeply connected to the nurturing and advancement of family and societal values. Throughout history, women have often been unsung heroes, despite their profound impact on social growth and stability. Key discussions during the seminar included the increasing economic significance of women in the workforce, with an emphasis on female entrepreneurs and women in leadership roles. The seminar concluded with a call to action, urging continued investment in education, mentorship, and legal reforms to further empower women. Dr. N. Mala underscored the need for a collective societal approach to ensure that women are given equal opportunities to contribute, lead, and thrive in all areas of life. Overall, the seminar provided a comprehensive and inspiring look at the enduring significance of women, reaffirming their role as pillars of society and engines of progress.

We are happy to share that the Department of Mechatronics Engineering organized a seminar titled "Embracing The Future Industry 5.0 and Industrial Automation" on 24th August 2024. This event was facilitated by Dr. J.Arulvadivu, from Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology.

In this session, our students were given valuable insights into the future of Industry 5.0, underscoring the importance of human- machine collaboration and Innovation in Industrial Automation.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an outreach and ATL linkage monitoring program at Isha Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School on September 10, 2024. The event saw participation from nearly 100 students, where they were introduced to LED scrolling board design using Arduino technology.

The program was coordinated by Mr. J. Balaji and Mr. S. Arunkumar, Assistant Professors from the ECE department, with student coordinators Ranjith M. and Deepak R., final-year ECE students.
