२१२औँ भानुजयन्ती समारोह

दार्जिलिङ पार्वतीय विश्वविद्यालयद्वारा २१२औँ भानुजयन्ती समारोह विश्वविद्यालय परिसरमा गरिमामय रूपमा सम्पन्न गरियो। नेपाली भाषा तथा साहित्यका आदिकवि भानुभक्त आचार्यप्रति श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गर्ने उद्देश्यले आयोजित कार्यक्रममा विश्वविद्यालय परिवार, शिक्षक, कर्मचारी तथा विद्यार्थीहरूको उल्लेखनीय उपस्थिति रहेको थियो।

कार्यक्रमको अध्यक्षता कुलसचिव डा. सुजाता रानी राईले गर्नुभयो। प्रारम्भमा असामयिक रूपमा निधन भएका विश्वविद्यालयक कर्मचारी विसप मुखियाकी आमाप्रति एक मिनेट मौनधारण गरी हार्दिक श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गरिएको थियो। त्यसपछि दीप प्रज्वलन, माल्यार्पण तथा भानुभक्त आचार्यको प्रतिमामा पुष्पाञ्जलि अर्पण गरी औपचारिक रूपमा कार्यक्रमको शुभारम्भ गरियो।

कार्यक्रममा राष्ट्रियगीत प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो भने स्वागत मन्तव्यसँगै डा. महेश दाहालले भानुभक्त आचार्यबारे व्याख्यान प्रस्तुत गर्नुभयो। भानुभक्तका आभिव्यक्ति हाम्रो संस्कृतिको गहिराइबाट व्यक्त भएको मान्दै विविध पद्धतिबाट कवि भानुभक्तका रचना पठन गर्न सकिने दृष्टान्त प्रस्तुत गरे।

त्यसपश्चात् विद्यार्थीहरूले रामायण पाठ प्रस्तुत गरे। कविता वाचन सत्रमा डा. मौसम शर्मा, प्रा. विशाल विश्वकर्म आदिले काव्यिक रसास्वादन गराए। दिप्ती आलेले समकालीन सापेक्षतामा भानुभक्तबारे विमर्श प्रस्तुत गरिन्। विद्यार्थी सिद्विविनायक छेत्री र सोयेल राईले आकर्षक नाट्याभिनय प्रस्तुत गरे।

समारोहमा उपस्थित अध्यक्ष तथा कुलसचिव डा. सुजाता रानी राईले आफ्नो अध्यक्षीय मन्तव्यमा भानुभक्त आचार्य जातीय भावान्तर्लय बनिसकेको मान्दै भानुभक्तका रचनामा व्यप्त दर्शन, सामाजिकता अध्यात्मलाई व्यक्त गर्नुभयो। नेपाली काव्य परम्परामा उनको उपादेयतालाई ऐतिहासिक दृष्टिबाट विश्लेषण गर्दै कुल-सचिव डा. सुजातारानी राईले भाषा निर्माणमा भानुभक्तीय रामायणबारे विस्तृत चर्चा गरिन्।

अन्त्यमा डा. मनोज लिम्बूले धन्यवाद ज्ञापन गर्दै कार्यक्रम सफल बनाउन सहयोग गर्ने सम्पूर्ण सहभागी, शिक्षक, कर्मचारी तथा विद्यार्थीहरूप्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त गर्नुभयो। नेपाली भाषा, साहित्य र सांस्कृतिक चेतनालाई प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने उद्देश्यले आयोजित २१२औँ भानुजयन्ती समारोह सौहार्दपूर्ण वातावरणमा सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न भयो। डा. मौसम शर्माले कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गरेका थिए।

Darjeeling Hills University (DHU) observed the 212th Birth Anniversary of the venerable Nepali poet Shri Bhanubhakta Acharya with a solemn ceremony on campus. The event, attended by faculty, staff, officers and students, honoured the revered poet's enduring contribution to the Nepali language and literature.

The programme, presided over by Honourable Registrar Dr. Sujata Rani Raibegan with a minute of silence in memory of the beloved mother of the university office assistant Mr. Bishop Mukhia, who passed away recently. It was followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting to Adi Kavi Bhanubhakta Acharya.

Highlights included a keynote lecture by Dr. Mahesh Dahal on Bhanubhakta's literary legacy, Ramayan recitations by students Dipti Allay, Ashmita Chhetri, Yarusha Lepcha and Anushka Bhujel, poetry performances by faculty members Mr. Vishal Biswakarma and Dr. Mausam Sharma and a skit by students Siddhi Vinayak Chhetri and Soyal Rai.

In her address, Dr. Sujata Rani Rai reflected on Bhanubhakta's transformative role in the development of the Nepali language through his translation of the Ramayana, emphasizing his lasting influence on Nepali literary and cultural heritage.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Mausam Sharma, मौसम सम faculty from the Department of Nepali and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Manoj Limbu Ingnam faculty from the Department of Nepali. It reaffirmed DHU's commitment to promoting the rich literary and cultural heritage of the Himalayan region.

DARJEELING HILLS UNIVERSITY AT THE TELESCOPE MAKING WORKSHOP, MALDA COLLEGE

Soyal Rai, a Third Semester M.A. in Mass Communication student of Darjeeling Hills University, accompanied by faculty member Mr. Chanchal Thapa, participated in the Workshop on Telescope Making and Night Sky Observation for Beginners, organised by the IUCAA Centre for Astronomy Research & Development (ICARD), Department of Physics, Malda College, from 23rd–25th June 2026.

Conducted under the theme "Build Your Own Telescope and Discover the Sky," the workshop offered participants an excellent opportunity to learn the fundamentals of optics, telescope construction and astronomical observation through hands-on activities and guided night sky observation sessions. The technical sessions were conducted by IUCAA Subject Matter Experts Mr. Samir Dhurde, Mr. Tushar Purohit, and Mr. Maharudra Mate, whose expertise greatly enriched the learning experience.

The workshop proved to be an enriching interdisciplinary experience, reinforcing the value of experiential learning and scientific inquiry

Darjeeling Hills University expresses its sincere appreciation to Dr. Shyam Das, Coordinator of the programme, the Department of Physics, Malda College, ICARD and IUCAA, Pune, for their warm hospitality and for organising this highly informative and inspiring workshop.
