एसईआरबी पावर परियोजना के तहत आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में डॉ. प्रीति मिश्रा ने एथिकल हैकिंग का परिचय दिया, और सेंसलर्नर टेक्नोलॉजीज के श्री सत्यम रस्तोगी ने SQL इंजेक्शन, मैलवेयर खतरे, और हैकिंग के विभिन्न प्रकारों पर जानकारी साझा की।

"🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Preeti Mishra, Assistant Professor at Doon University’s School of Technology and head of the Advanced Cyber Security Research Lab, has been honored with the prestigious SERB POWER Mobility Award by the Government of India. 🌟 This award, given to fewer than 10 candidates across India, recognizes her exceptional contributions to research in cloud computing and security.

With the support of this research training grant, Dr. Mishra recently completed her visit to the University of Padua, Italy, from March 19 to May 21, 2024. During this period, she collaborated with renowned cybersecurity expert Professor Mauro Conti on groundbreaking research focusing on 'Interpretable Machine Learning Based Malware Detection Models' to enhance security in virtualized environments.

This accolade is particularly noteworthy as Dr. Mishra was selected from a competitive pool of faculty members from top institutions including IITs, Central Universities, and IISc Bangalore. She is also Uttarakhand's first woman educationist to receive this prestigious grant.

Her achievements underscore her significant role in advancing cybersecurity research and provide valuable international exposure for Doon University students. Dr. Mishra’s previous accomplishments, including research grants from SERB DST and DSCI, and her textbook on cloud security published by CRC Press, further highlight her contributions to the field. The Doon University's Department of Computer Science, Dehradun recently organized a 100 hours workshop on Microsoft Power BI, aimed at enhancing women's skills, under the Honeywell Centre for Women Empowerment (COWE) ICT Academy. The workshop took place in a physical mode from March 15 to March 27, 2023. A total of 59 female students from various departments of the university enthusiastically registered for the workshop.

The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Surekha Dangwal, the esteemed Vice Chancellor of Doon University. Dr. Narendra Rawal, the Head of the Department, also discussed the workshop's main theme during the inaugural ceremony. In addition, Rohit Ranjan, the ICT Instructor, provided an overview of the course curriculum to the students.

The workshop was successfully coordinated by Professor Dr. Preeti Mishra, Convenor of the Department of Computer Science, and Mr. Aditya Singh, the coordinator of the ICT Academy. The technical club members of Doon University provided valuable support throughout the workshop.

We are delighted to share the success story of one of the workshop participants, Ms. Nikita Naithani. She seized the placement opportunity offered by the ICT Academy and secured a position as a Business Development Associate at Airblack Technologies Pvt Ltd in Gurugram. Ms. Naithani secured this position with a remarkable package of 7.0 LPA in the most recent workshop.

Conceptualizing the relationship between Biodiversity and Information technology, the Computer Science Department of Doon University Dehradun, organized a Seminar on ‘Biodiversity Informatics and Its application with computer science’ on 11 November 2022.
The keynote speaker of the seminar was Mr. Neelesh Yadav, Scientist-E, and Head of IT and GIS division, Forest Research Institute. He introduced the students to the world of Biodiversity Informatics and the technology used at the forest Research Institute. Sharing the details of samples of various Flora and Fauna and he also told how its database entry has become simpler and error-free by the use of image processing applications.
He also provided information related to various opportunities such as internship, project dissertations, research collaborations that Doon University computer science students can avail with FRI.

Under the supervision of Head of the Department Dr. Narendra Rawal, Department of Computer Science, Doon University, Dr. Preeti Mishra, assistant Professor, Doon University and Dr. Neelam Rana, Lecturer, Doon University the seminar was a great success.

Guest Lecture on ❞𝑭𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑰𝒐𝑻 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝑫𝑵❞. Drawing attention on the growing technology of Internet of Things and importance of its security, Advanced Cyber Security Research lab, Department of Computer Science, Doon University Dehradun, organized a Guest Lecture on “Fundamentals of IoT Security and Advances using SDN” on 5 November 2022. Dr. Kallol Krishna Karmakar, Research Lecturer, Advance Cyber Security Research Centre (ACSRC), University of Newcastle, Callaghan, Australia, was the eminent speaker of the session. Giving overview of the topic.
He made the students aware about the network devices, network communication and cloud management Associated with IoT. He also threw light on the security of IoT devices 5G and beyond 5G architecture. He also shared about his research contribution and expertise in policy analysis and other aspects of the field. Clarifying the goal IoT of achieving a smart life, better connectivity, information collection and easy accessibility Dr. Karmakar discussed Software Defined Network, it’s function and threats.
Furthermore, he also provided information on the future scope of IoT and career options in the field. The most crucial part of the lecture was the implementation and emerging research questions in the field. Drawing to a close to his lecture cleared doubt of the students related to this emerging field and its scope.
